Mobley is not a 20/10 guy but we overlook all of our young guys flaws and project them to be stars. lol

Giddey is also on a hot streak right now and we will have to see if it continues… a triple double tonight and averaging like 16/8/6/1 the last dozen games.

Im not even saying Giddey will end up better than Green, but with Giddey being younger and more productive, it’s an argument you can at least make. FWIW Giddey doesn’t defend either.

Silas is not a HC caliber person. Some people think that he just applies what he is asked for i.e. a product of "Obey, don't judge" culture. In both cases he is harmful to progress. Has to go.

KJM is the best cutter. He has to be here to show how it happens to Tari and Jabari. If he was a soccer player his style would be described as "elusive".

Tate is a role player, Tari will be fantastic NBA player. Different levels. If Tate was 6 inches taller, it would be different story. Position 3 belongs to KJM/Tari. We have to create a position for Tate.

Rockets became champs in 94&95 because of system. The great player Hakeem was there but not surrounded by #2, #3, #4 players. Rudy was #2, #3, #4. If anyone says Vernon, Carl, Sam, Horry, Zan Tabak,, were 2.3.4 it is just a make up. Magic had #1, #2, #3 and was swept.

    Hearts and brains.

Anyone drafted in '23 will fit the core (Wemby, Scoot, Anthony Black,..) and the team will start to contend starting from 2026.

Future is bright as long as they don't touch to the main core (JGreen/Sengun/Bari/Tari/' 23 pick).

Have to disagree with you here Nook. I know you're not saying he's better, but it is not close. If you list out various skills as though they're equally weighted, sure it would look that way.

However, scoring is the most important thing in the NBA (Jalen is a clearly better scorer and will end up the much better scorer). Defense is the next most important thing (both of them suck at it). Passing is the next most important thing and Giddey averages 5.6 assists to 3.1 TO's (regressed from last season), and that's not going to make up the gap between their scoring.

Btw we say this while Giddey is on the hottest shooting streak of his career and he's still just scoring 15 points on 14 shots + still sucks at scoring at the rim on a tiny volume + still sucks at defense. He has the same wingspan as Green while being 2 inches taller but with a fraction of the athleticism which is a game changer in the NBA. Giddey's potential is in his high IQ passing but his situation on the Thunder is a perfect example of the risks to his career. Why give him the ball when you have a star scorer in SGA who can generate a better return on each possession and can learn to run an offense within 4-5 years?

Pretty much indifferent to all of the subjective observations in this discussion other than to think Jabari has shown the most improvement. He's just as bad as everyone else on the team in their own respective ways. IMO its irrelevant to get too deep into analysis at the present time when it would appear this team had all of this planned out. They have one more shot at a "superstar" in the upcoming draft and from there the sand starts to empty from the hourglass.

Once you can come to terms that these guys wanted to lose this year, Silas wont be the coach that takes this team to the playoffs and Stone is about to start getting froggy in the FA/trade market then hopefully more guys would entertain an optimistic view. Drafting is sadly not an exact science and there is nobody from 21/22 other than Paolo that I feel would have made more of a difference than the guys we did draft. Thats the way the cookie crumbles some drafts just dont house top end talent. The sky is not falling.

Most guys who have played less than 200 NBA games at a different position do not play "winning" basketball I have cited numerous players whose games evolved.

What are these little things that he can't do well and can't we say nobody on the roster really do those things?

Green is not a net positive either, so should we be looking to get rid of him?

I have no issue with pointing out the flaws in KPJ's game but nobody on this team is held to the standard he is and he has the most complete game on the roster, I have no idea why KPJ is supposed to be this finished product so early in his career and yes even if people want to push the 4-year narrative that's still early in his career just look at Jrue Holiday.

He was pretty good last night - he's a very valuable player because he does a little bit of everything. He was left open on the perimeter and invited to shoot by the heat and he didnt make them pay but he ran some smart 2 man games off the weak side after SGA draws teh attention and was able to create points down the stretch.

I actually think it shows the horribleness of Green's "here's the ball let's manufacture somethign" predicament, a role for which he is not suited and KPJ is not suited.

So I am a KPJ Stan just because I don't think he needs to be moved to bench and I just said I don't care if he is moved so how does that fit with me being a KPJ stan.

This is like if I called you a KPJ hater just because you think the way you do, would that be cool with you?

What has happened to make me think he should be the starter point guard on this team and a starter is that he is currently better than anybody else they have to play the position full stop.

Why just because I have a different opinion of KPJ's worth should I be called a stan?

I also don't think that having KPJ is hurting anybodies development and I certainly don't think Green having the ball more will make anybody better he has the green lite and handles the ball plenty currently, and I don't see how he will help anybody else's game either.

Scoring is very important in the NBA, but it isn't the only thing.

There is no question that Green has a bigger upside than Giddey, but right now Giddey is the more productive player and he is younger than Green.

Giddey is a far better rebounder (an elite one), far better passer, ball handler and has a better feel for the game.

Green has the athleticism and explosiveness, and long term likely the shooting touch to be a better player than Giddey.

My point was only that right now Giddey is a more productive player.

Yes, he is definitely generating more non-scoring stats that could lead to someone else scoring or playing better. Consider that Giddey is more productive than Kobe Bryant, Devin Booker, Zach Lavine and Bradley Beal at the same age too. Westbrook is arguably the most "productive" of all players in NBA history but that hasn't meant much. It's not really fair to compare someone who is acting like a role player to someone who is trying to be a team's leading scorer, the rankings get skewed.

I understand what you are saying here though. Right now, Giddey as a sidekick to SGA is doing more useful team-things. I just don't believe passing, rebounding, steals, feel (all combined) can be more important than the two big picture items of defense and scoring where Green has a decisive edge.

i like Giddey as a player though, I can see a Steve Nash-like future for him.

Sengun is our best player, by far. We should clearly build around him. Mobley is a nice complementary player, better defender than Sengun, but Jabari can fill that role.

I mean Giddey scores significantly less on worse efficiency. So the claim of him being more productive is debatable.

You have to brainwash Jabari into submission. Dude is too rebellious.

You can be 99.999% sure that Giddey won't win Back to Back MVPs......that was even lucky for Nash.

    I agree, it is debatable.
