During the Elvin Hayes ceremony everyone booed when the politician was announced, but cheered when Tilman was announced. He needs to earn the cheers as he hasn’t done squat for the team’s fans. Good point, but I just feel the fans of Houston deserve better. For those who say Silas has had no support on this site, I simply ask you to go through the past three years of my specific OPs about his current and past failures as a coach. I absolutely have been berated for saying he sucks and has always sucked as an assistant and head coach (with the one exception of a year in Dallas). Guys like Corrosion say he’s a very good coach who is just the victim of a young inexperienced roster. That’s the most common excuse on this board, however many others come to his defense by saying that we’re just purposely tanking and Silas is a being a good soldier by intentionally losing games and the “real Silas” will come out when he actually tries next year (that one’s been used for each of the past three years). Others continually say that we need to give him another year as no other coach or former coach in this league could do any better (reminder- worst record in NBA history). Sound familiar….it should as these excuses are found over and over in every single (Silas) thread of mine along with the usual “ban him from the site” demands from the pro-Silas crowd. For those who have been supportive over the years (i.e., Hakeem94, Asheylem, etc.) it’s been very much appreciated. Ultimately, this ownership ain’t going to do squat if the fan base continues to accept piss poor results without demanding a higher level of excellence.
