I agree with all you said except Stroud being better. He’s a finished product with no upside. Average mobility and arm talent. Yes Levis and Richardson are both risks, but at least there’s a potential superstar reward. Not so much with Stroud
The Colts aren’t trading up for Bryce Young. Lance Z is friends with Chris Ballard, the Colts GM. This morning he was talking about how much of a size queen Ballard was. He said Ballard’s minimum measurements for a QB are 6’1 218. Young isn’t remotely close to that.
That’s what I’ve been saying but no one’s listening lol he also said no one would trade up for a QB that small. I’d rather CJ but he did say Bryce was the better prospect and had potential to be a franchise player. Also, if the Georgia game is the real CJ, he’d be a problem as well.
I don't understand the hype around Quenton Johnston. I wouldn't pick him in the first round much less the 12th overall. I get he's big and fast but that doesn't mean he'll be great in the NFL. The more I watch him the more I feel he's in the Kevin White, Brashaad Perriman, Laviska Shenault, Josh Doctson group. If the opportunity is there I'd much rather trade down and get JSN or wait till round 2/3/4 to grab Zay Flowers put them in the slot (can't guarantee Metchie's health) and hope for Marvin Harrison or Adonai Mitchell in 2024. If someone wants to convince me or show me a video on why I am wrong about Johnston I'll keep an open mind
Is the qb that won the college football championship any good? Draft the other weak areas with our high picks and take a swing with him with a late rounder?
I Did say draft him with a late rounder. I don't see us getting the best qb option with the second pick, feel like someone is gonna trade for the number 1 draft pick. What do u forsee us doing?
No idea. I don't see us trading up. Not sure if other teams will. I think we end up with Young, Stroud, or Levis, for better or worse. You almost have to take a QB at 2 if you want one oft he top 3 guys. You could take a defender at 2 and then try and trade up for Levi's or Stroud, but there's too many QB needy teams in between your picks. Best case scenario, the Bears love Will Anderson and we convince them that if they trade out of number 1, we will draft him. A lot depends on the coach we get.
You used to find Guards and Centers from the Tackles who couldn't quite make it at the tackle position. Is that still the case or has something changed?
Rather arbitrary measurements for a QB no? Almost as if they're just trying to stay outside of Youngs height/weight while being able to say he wasnt their type of QB if he does happen to become a good franchise signal caller. I could see Las Vegas and Carolina trying to move up. If you could get two future 1sts from either team plus additional picks I'd drop down. Do what you can to add picks to next years draft. We have 12 picks this year. These next 2 years will be vital in reshaping the roster. How to construct the team is up for debate, but the main thing is having an influx of young talent to grow with. I would make QB one of the final additions.
I would argue it’s actually Levis that has limited upside. At his age, he should be far more advanced than he is. Burrow was way more polished coming out at that same age. Stroud is the youngest qb coming out. He still needs time to develop his body, mind, etc.
2. Houston Texans - Bryce Young, QB, Alabama For most of the season, Houston looked like a sure thing to secure the No. 1 overall selection. Now, the Texans must grapple with whether to make a trade with Chicago or risk losing out on its top option. The clear choice should be Young, who might be the only player in this draft capable of elevating a franchise responsible for one-and-done coaches in consecutive years. A master of maneuvering the pocket, Young shows uncommon cool in the face of pressure. He's by no means a sure thing, and his 6-0, 194-pound frame will be a sticking point for some. But Young marks the best chance for the Texans to jumpstart a rebuild that has been dormant for some time. 12. Houston Texans (from Cleveland Browns) - Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU Houston can't expect for Bryce Young – or any other quarterback – to single-handedly save an offense that ranked 31st with just 17 points per game. Enter Johnston, a 6-4, 215-pound burner who's equally comfortable hauling in deep bombs as he is evading defenders after slants.
Rather have Mayer at 12. Elite TEs impact offenses so much and create security blankets for young QBs. Anyone watch the National Championship game? Apparently TCU’s Avila is one of the top C prospects. How did he do against Carter and company?
