“We see all the mistakes and what’s going on. It’s about executing. These guys know basketball. I don’t care how young they are. They know basketball. It’s really up to us players to do the right thing on the floor. … Same thing every game. They know what to do.”

They know what they need to do. They know exactly what they need to do. [IMG]

So when they local homer media (Feigen/Iko; and fans like Jackson Gatlin and Ben Dubose who cover the team) and Rafael Stone tell everyone no, no, no, we can’t trade him, we’re not looking to trade him, he’s a great locker room leader, great locker room presence, great veteran presence, great guidance for the kids, what the **** are they talking about? o_O

I’m not saying he’s a cancer but great locker room leader? Veteran presence?

What Rivers is really saying is that the makeup of the team is not benefiting Green and KPJ. Rivers thinks the team needs a better mix of young and old. He’s really talking about Stone and Tilman and the way they have constructed the roster. Coaching is important, we all know that. But, Rivers is saying it takes more than just coaching. It takes a locker room where players hold each other accountable, and an environment where the vets are helping the young guys improve.

Stone and Tilman have done nothing to improve the chemistry on this team in order to facilitate the tank.

Rockets media is the only thing worse than Rockets in Houston.

There has been a couple articles written about the Rockets’ decision to not have their young core under the tutelage of vets. Most of the top teams today including Memphis and Phoenix had several vets with winning experience to guide their young core throughout the years. I wrote about this months ago. But you are correct the coaches aren’t putting these guys in a position to win and there’s no vets to guide them. I would say there is a lot of teaching from vets at this level. A lot of experience and technical info is shared between players everyday. Like in high school those Seniors or experienced guys especially guys with winning experience always had things to teach and without their guidance the younger guys wouldn’t be as successful.

Don’t know why people put everything on the coaches. Yes the coaching staff draws up plays and sets the style and system of play. They can give advice and correct deficiencies but the players who are tactically in the field exchange a lot of info. They are the ones seeing the action at a different angle from a player’s perspective like what a player on the other team’s tendencies are or how the other team defends and what seams are available when x drops coverage at point y etc. This happens at any organized level. And I get the feeling those saying everything is on the coaches are ones who never played. Winning vet experience is invaluable to younger players.

I have never seen anyone ask for a job for the opposing team in a post game interview. I personally think it’s clever and funny.

If only we had had a 40 million dollar PG available last year to mentor KPJ.

honestly they need more public embarrassment. front office and coaches can handle getting embarrased by their players. they can write it off and say it's a talent issue or them being malcontent. it's different when it comes from opposing teams. you can't justify that anymore.

Wall was worse at basketball and about 20 times more selfish than KPJ.

Him and Wood were two of the most toxic entities

I do think the coaching is a big part of the problem along with the lack of vets. I just don't understand the point of using a quote that says the coaching isn't the problem to make that point. If that's your point then find a quote that says that instead of the opposite.

I actually quoted it verbatim so that it would NOT seem like I was attributing my opinion to what he said.

It's just kinda weird to interpret a quote as the exact opposite of the quote and say "he was just being safe". Just find a quote that says what you want to say.

KPJ should never have been given the reigns to the team. You don't make a guy the defacto leader that needs leadership. Teams take on the traits of their leader and this is clearly KPJ's Rockets. So when your leader does the things that KPJ does it's going to affect the rest of the team.

Your leader should always be hustling, looking to make the right play on offense and defense. Your leader should be able to get other guys into position on the court. Your leader should never be throwing food at coaches and leaving at half time.

The Rockets had a PG that could have really helped Jalen and KPJ's development last year, but they chose to have him sit instead of play. They were in too much of a rush to hand the keys to KPJ. And Silas is not a good leader and THAT is the reason KPJ does whatever he wants.

What I saw 35 years in multinationals is poor managers employ poor people. Poor managers lack confidence and they can't handle smart people.

    Head coach: S.Silas
    Head Honcho: KPJ

You should expect this end result when you employ Silas.

Yeah, that there is a dissonance is ATW's opinion.

Rivers said something, ATW quoted it... in quotes.

Then ATW wrote what he thought, his opinion .... :shrug

we are WORSE than last year and we added another 3 first round picks to the roster. the 4 first round picks from the year prior also gained a full year experience.

    it's sad man.
