Ask yourself how many games a 20 year old Francis would lead a NBA team with a roster full of other 19 and 20 year olds. Francis and Mobley were the young projects on the Rockets at age like 22 and 25.
don’t forget all the “KPJ at 20 is further along than Harden at 20” or “KPJ at 20 is putting up way more points and assists than Harden at the same age” posts we used to see on here now it’s Jalen Green at age X is putting up better stats than Lavine or Beal at the same age…yet it’s no guarantee Green will surpass the 27, 5, and 5 on 51/42/85 splits that Lavine put up in his best season right now he is tracking far below someone like Anthony Edwards when it comes to scoring

What? Ant was like 22 ppg on 54% ts his first half of his sophomore year. How is that far below Green especially given that Ant at least have competent developed players around him(DLo, Towns, Rudy etc)

The most surprising thing is Green having more ft attempts per game given that Ant is a much bigger body who can generate more contact I would assume.

It's amazing how much of a conception fit you experience when someone just merely provides context to a situation. Never did I say just because Green came in young automatically makes him a better player. The difference in their output and efficiency is close enough to where ya age AND the roster around is enough to offset the difference. How well do you think a 22 year old Francis would operate in just KPJ's shoes leading around a team that has just 19-22 year olds as rotation players?

Anthony Edwards pre-ASB last year - 22, 5 and 4 on 44/36/78 splits and 55% TS if Jalen had those shooting percentages right now and even that efficiency, we’d all be celebrating then he goes into the playoffs and puts up 25, 4, and 3 on 46/40/82 splits and 60% TS against the Grizzlies 6th ranked defense Jalen Green so far - 21, 4, and 4 on 41/32/79 splits and 53% TS with his efficiency and scoring numbers getting worse by the day

I mean I literally posted their production at age 20 and they are exactly the same almost. So Ant played a lot better his second half of his sophomore year l? Gee it's as if young players have a higher chance of mid season development because of how few games they've played in the NBA. So how about we ease off on the assumptions until after the second season for Green. He has his second half coming up. Green also has his worst stretch 2 week stretch in his rookie year before he went on that 2 and a half month tear.
