    He has no pride.

What he does have is owners that want him where he is. His feelings are irrelevant.

One person that is probably talking to him is Kevin McCarthy. He can’t afford to lose a single vote. It wouldn’t surprise me if McCarthy is promising Santos stuff like committee assignments and helping him with ethics investigation

Even though Santos was defrauding McCarthy supporters and exploiting McCarthy's name and position my guess is McCarthy won't do anything because he needed Santos' vote for speaker and is now under threat of getting replaced at any moment.

Can this dude go a week without lying? Not sure what night of the fiasco for the speaker vote was last week but one pic showed him and MTG talking, and I was like oh yea.......he found his ally. Just what the freshman needs, a snarky lying snake like MTG

Not that I like either man, but this is a dangerous false equivalency. Santos seems like a guy who lies pathologically to get what he wants in the short-term. Not a good person, but will flame out pretty quickly. For Trump, lies are just one tool in his gaslighting toolkit. He lies strategically to serve his long-term goals. He crafts whole campaigns in which he interweaves lies, bullying, pandering, leverage, threats, and every other trick he knows. Obviously, he's been very hard to hold accountable as a result. Santos, by contrast, is more likely to be in prison than in Congress in 2 years.

It's not a crime to lie about where you work, where you went to school, how much you earn, or even how your parents died. It is a crime though to defraud people financially. I think it's on those grounds that Santos should be invesitagated, charged and kicked out of Congress.

I'm not going to expect that to happen though given how tight things are in the House. McCarthy and the Republican Caucus have already made it clear that as long as it keeps him the speakership ethics are secondary.

If there’s a crime it’s not up to the House. It’s up to law enforcement.
