Right - the concern is the length of the deals and if the leg degenerates. Team aren't concerned about him in the short-term. Thus, he wouldn't have any problem getting a short-term deal. But he wants and is still trying to get his 10-yr type deal. If that fails, he can sign a huge 1 or 2 year deal without any problem.

Man that was an awesome show, an inflation adjustment today of $40 mill still makes him a bargain lol.

Correa and Boras got too cute with that Twins contract that they never had the intention to fulfill. They may come crawling back to Twins on their hands and knees now.

Because Astors fans weighing in on Correa are ****ing stupid beyond belief and say stupid things. It literally takes a mouth breathing moron to be so stupid as to suggest, with a straight face, that Correa made a mistake by opting out of that deal.
It’s unfathonably dumb and also par for the course with the mouth breaking **** I’ve been reading for 2 years on the webs or hear on talk radio coming from the dumbest in our fanbase.

This is literally the dumbest take you could possibly have on this situation.
If correa said 2/70 is my number he’d have literally a dozen teams lined up to sign him/ probably closer to 20. He’s not crawling back to anyone on a 2/70 deal.

True. It only looks that way in retrospect.

Um, no sir, Steve Austin is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Epic battles between him and another legend, the Rock. He also shotguns beers like a boss.

I’m pointing out abject stupidity. You can be on the stupid side or not.

    Agree
Every team in MLB now is concerned with his leg between ages 34-40. The back end of these long 10+ year contracts. I’m sure Twins 10 year offer would be re-evaluated based on Giants/Mets discovery.
    Mets hold all the cards.
Many teams will give him 5-6 year deals.
Will be interesting how Mets restructure Correa contract in order to protect them from the back 6 years of 315 million deal.

Give him the Bobby Bonilla deal. After 6 years, if injured, the money is still guaranteed but payable as $1 mill a year for the next 160 years ;)

It’s too bad none of Altuve, Pena, Bregman, or Correa have any reasonable potential to convert to CF.

I think Pena could, but there is no reason for that. He is great at short. The kid can fly.

I love Correa but he simply doesn't fit this team anymore.

Once Pena established himself there was no spot for him regardless of finances but his $$$ demands seal the door.

Wonder how Altuve would do in the OF. He's never played there in his professional career, but he's definitely the weakest fielder of that group, so he's the only one you wouldn't be losing significant value by moving. Not going to happen though.
