The Bears have the next few months to field as many offers as they need from teams desperate for a QB and they get to choose which one to go with…. And if Denver holds on, the Colts at #4 are a prime candidate (and the Bears could always trade some of their profit to get #3 if they fear the Cardinals will take their guy).

There’s no guarantee Young is the top QB come draft time either.

Nick Caserio is probably grinning ear to ear tonight. The public pressure on him to draft Bryce Young at 1.01 was huge. I feel strongly that Caserio does not want Bryce Young. This gives him an escape hatch.

Hell no, there’s no guarantee another team trades up for him, and even then, we don’t need to give up no more first round picks, we gave up enough first round picks when we had O’Brien we need to not go down that path again especially considering how many needs we need to address. I’m not that high on Young anyway, dude has the talent but his size scares me and personally I believe he’ll deal with injuries similar to Tua or Kyler. I’d rather just go Stroud or best player available on defense.

Young isn’t the top prospect in the class. He’s arguably the top QB, my opinion he is but not consensus

They are not just going to trade the pick for the sake of trading the pick. If they think Anderson is the next Bosa or Carter is the next Donald they may not trade the pick at all.

A win for us was a loss today and not having to worry about any of this bullshit, and we ****ed it up in the most obnoxious way possible. We need a QB. Will Anderson or Carter or anyone else aside from the QB is not saving this ****ing team.

Exactly.. Anderson and Carter are regarded as the best players the draft. It would be no surprise for them to not only get the best player in Anderson and also it’s a need for them as well.

Young can easily be there at 2 bro.. we’re assuming people are trading up to 1… have no idea that will happen.

I would be willing to bet that some team, whether it's Indy, seattle, detroit, vegas, or carolina, ends up offering a stupid amount of draft capital to leapfrog to 1 and take bryce young. My bet is Indy throws the entire bank at them, which just adds so much insult to injury. Young will be gone, and the Texans will be in a position where we have to choose between Stroud at 2 or one of the defensive players. I personally don't like Stroud all that much, probably my anti ohio st bias, but i don't like him that much. Much higher on Young. But I also HATE HATE HATE HATE the idea of punting on a QB for yet another season and kicking the can down the road again.

My guess, Caserio takes Will Anderson if he is available, even if Young is available too. If Anderson is gone at 2, my guess is he trades down. I'm losing faith quickly in Nick. He's too analytical and plays GM like it's baseball. I'm not a fan of his approach anymore at all. Everything is overthought and theres no real substance to his decisions.

So Texans now have the #2 and #10 picks! That is pretty decent for the rebuilding process. Only way they trade, is if they trade down to get additional talent if opportunity presents itself.
