But at least half the hate is for defensive concentration, and that's 100% in his control. We've already seen him do it better.
This play is so annoying. Really want to root for KPJ, but this play is just etched in my memory now.
If ya'll cant see that him calling himself this is a big problem, you are blind. I think getting KPJ was a major mistake. The Rockets play best when they play through Sengun and Jalen and they play worse and lose when KPJ has good games. Thats should tell you all something. Silas needs to go and they need to send KPJ to the bench or make him realize he needs to take a lesser role.
DD doubling down on stupid as always I'm the next president of the United States. Guess it makes it true
There is a difference between him thinking and calling himself a leader vs actually being one. Thing about being a leader is that real leaders don’t need to call themselves one. Leaders also lead by example. If the rest of the team genuinely thinks of KPJ as a leader, the team is ****ed to its every fiber.
This Wemby saga has become kind of "Prester John" legend. We have seen him in Euroleague last year, a good talent but not that extraordinary. He rejected to play further in Asvel, an Euroleague team and moved to a complete unknown team. It is similar to switching from NBA to G-League. I am not saying he is not a wonderful player but what I saw last year does not match the expectations. He played 13 games, around 18mpg, 6.5 ppg, 3.8rpg, 0.5apg, 1.9 bpg. Except blocks he seemed just a good player. He was very young (still he is) but we have seen lots of young players in Euro area including Doncic, Gasol, Sengun,..
He is the leader, people may not like it, but that is the way it is.....whine and b**** and moan all you want, but KPJ is this team's leader on the floor. Now maybe Tate will change that.....but we shall see. DD
Of course KPJ is the leader and that is the #1 reason why the team sucks. In a normal circumstances he is not a starter, forget about leading the team. If FO asks to Nix to lead the team tomorrow, it does not make Nix a starter. It is just a delusion. Silas+KPJ+Ego is the group to succeed in to be worst, for the next draft, for the higher pick. What people say is giving the keys to KPJ is a certain formula to be so bad. Coach changes and the next day KPJ will be demoted.
KPj (or Christian Wood) as the head honcho is great if your end goal is to get the highest lottery odds. And so far they are 3/3. Head Honcho = Tank Commander
We play worse when he plays better and we're ruining developing time. We might already have what we are looking for in the draft. We dont know because we are going through KPJ. On averages when we go through Sengun we win at a rate of .500 and Jalen average 26 ppg on much better shooting. ISNT THAT THE TYPE OF PLAYERS WE ARE LOOKING FOR THROUGH DRAFT? (Not yelling just emphasis)
Sort of....there's 3 generational talents in this draft and we want to be in the running for one of them. If I had to guess (and hope for the love of god) is that the staff has already told Jabari and Jalen (maybe Sengun) what the plan is. Let KPj pretend he's the head honcho or whatever and then next year they'll actually try with the new guy in the fold. If the Rockets get a Top 3 pick it's straightforward just like last year. Take one of Wemby/Scoot/Amen in that order. If we fall to 4-5 it gets murkier but I think they'll look at the 3 spot here with Miller, Walker or Whitmore and address the PG spot through a trade or free agency (FVV).
And in the meantime we are wasting developing time for a player we may not get and if the last 2 drafts are an indicator we wont get Wemby. I guess we'll see its gonna be hard to tell a guy he's the head honcho and then relegate him to the bench with this coach. If both KPJ and Silas are here next year I doubt KPJ gets a lesser role. Our new pick will.
That's my fear as well. Another coach can banish KPj to the bench and if he has an outburst they can just cut him, end his contract and his career is effectively over. I think EGo needs to get traded for picks now. Need those so we can make trades (Ayton) this off-season. Outside of Wemby I think Scoot/Amen are issues from a timing standpoint. We don't have the time anymore to develop a PG. So what do we do if we have the 2 or 3 pick? Run our offense through a rookie? Idk.
