Report this morning was that Casserio and Smith likely both gone. Casserio hasn’t done anything except play a role in hiring head coaches that were set up to fail and reaching on a QB on a 3rd round pick. He’s had to admittedly change his “plan” more than once based on situations that he was seemingly in charge of. The way they handled Culley and now Smith are laughing-stockish… and if those weren’t his calls, what sort of GM power does he really have when it comes to the truly “big” decisions?
I didn't see that report. If it's true, than I support it. I agree with you both coaching hires were awful. If I were in charge, I'd move on from him, too, but I also wouldn't have hired him in the first place or done a lot of the things this franchise has done since... well, ever. I'm always operating under the assumption that this team is going to do the most mediocre thing possible. If they actually hired a quality GM, a well-sought after coach and nailed their draft picks in the offseason, that would be nice for a change.
They need a clean slate. Casserio was sought after when BOB was here… and then they brought in Easterby who also shared the desire of hiring Casserio. BOB gone, Easterby gone…. Not sure why they’d keep Casserio unless somebody saw him doing something that few others can do.
Same here. I’ve never rooted against any of my teams ever… but it’s come to this right now. That’s how I know the Texans are as bad and in need of as much help as possible.
