A trade that evens the roster would be nice.

I'd be interested in Cam Johnson. Reddish is terrible at NBA basketball. I don't want him unless we're heading to the Fonde. I also have no interest in Derrick Rose. Mo Bamba is also not a very good player. I might take a flyer on him in free agency or if I could get him without giving much up, but I wouldn't give up a pick for him.

I'd rather just trade EG for a pick or picks, and frankly I don't care if they're second rounders at this point. I'd keep KMJ and extend him. I like that kid. Stay the course for this season, and then look for a new coach and some free agents that can help in the offseason. Hopefully we're picking up those free agents after drafting Wenbanyama.

even with a ton of cap space - i dont think we're gonna be much of a draw in free agency... we're gonna end up overpaying mid level talent (Ryan Anderson)...

with that in mind... i got no prob throwin Ego and/or non lottery pick(s) for a guy like Miles Turner - provided we know we can lockdown an extension... or if we can get Bamba... or an experienced pg...

i'm fine tanking out the season - but i'm expecting playoffs next year!

we got the space... most of guys are on rookie scale contracts...

its all about pulling another good piece outta this next draft...

getting a coach worth a damn...

and getting some established talent... off season is fine - but if that opportunity exists at the deadline this year - do it!

Agree with folks that say we’ll have to get aggressive with trade to acquire star players; we can’t assume any come in free agency. We have money but so do a lot of teams.

I think we should see a potential coaching change as a significant opportunity to become more attractive to free agents. We need to bring in someone that commands respect. This may be the most consequential decision our front office makes all year.

    If I was Stone-

-Relieve Silas in the next week unless the next 3 games there’s a huge turnaround
-if no trade emerges for EG to get back a second or late 1st with no long term salary, I waive him.. which IMO is the most likely scenario
-field offers for KJM. Set the price at 4 second rounders or a late first
-try out Kemba Walker (see him first hand maybe make a 10 day offer)
-Explore value trades for a vet PG on a budget
-Be open to KPJ and Sengun offers if there are buyers who can offer real young talent that better fits.

cam Johnson would be a huge get but my understanding is that the suns won’t trade him. We’d have to include like a Sengun, Green or Jabari. They refused to include him in Durant trade discussions. But Cam would be a great fit.

Yeah, I figured. But he was just the only guy OP mentioned I would even make an effort to get.

Other than Gordon, and a small chance with KMJ, not sure anything really needs attention.

Offseason is going to be where our fireworks are.

Our backcourt is a sh#t show. To me it needs a lot of attention. Having two ball stoppers in the backcourt is why we are playing so badly and it’s not helping the development of our young team.

Classic short term panic move thinking.

In no way, shape or form, should we be trying to "fix" the backcourt this trade season.

I'm fine with trading Gordon for whatever you can get without taking back any long term salary. He won't be here next year so even if you get two 2nds that is fine.

It's a complete waste of time to trade anyone other than Gordon.

Our team is terrible and other teams won't give up enough to compensate us for our young players who still have potential but have underperformed.

Most of the time when someone tries to "fix it" by making a bunch of trades or signing a bunch of free agents before drafting a young star they screw it up.

If Stone can't find that star talent then fire him and find someone that can. But, that doesn't change how this works. You still need to draft a star.

We really need to start taking the Morey approach of constantly looking to improve the roster, this lets wait and see approach which lasts years is not going to do it. No one should be untouchable.

Expecting Stone to get value back on trades is like thinking we're going to make the play-in tournament before each of the last 3 seasons.

Stone always wait too long on making trades. What did we get for Wood? Nothing, now he's the 2nd best player for the Mavs. What about John Wall? Nothing, especially when Lakers were desperate, we couldn't even get a 2nd rounder from them? Why did we give away Jarett Allen for free? Could've re-signed him and traded him later, plenty of teams need his skillset right now.

Stone said multiple teams offered a 1st for EG last season but we still held onto him, I will be amazed if we even get a 1st for him this trade deadline.

Stone is the guy sitting at the poker table who folds every round until he gets two Aces then tries to fool everyone in thinking he has garbage.

    We want to tank
    or
    to win?

The ideal coach would coach for 3.5 quarters then lets off the gas to lose the game :D
