    Gaetz is your favorite rep?

So you don't want gay people to be able to get married? The bible to be in the classroom and everywhere else? That's really cool man!!!!

Don't you know this is just an advert for Boebert and Greene contending for the hot VP role in the next episode of "Dip$hit Re-runs for President" where they beg dip$hit to "grab 'em by the p***y" on the campaign trail. The usual suspects here will be bonkers over it...

If you're a fan of horse-trading and deal-making then I regret to inform you that "Single Subject Bills" from that wishlist is going to make earmarks and all that pork that lubcricates Washington a lot harder to get through.

I wasn’t talking about one politician specifically but at the belief that the only reason why politicians oppose progressive policies is that they are all just out to profit or to hold on to power. The Gingrich and TEA party waves drove out entrenched politicians but not because all those voters wanted progressive policies.

The Blue wave of 2018 wasn’t driven by progressives policies either.

the problem is you’re not considering that there are actual ideological differences and not just self interest driving many in the House.

Actually in the UK the majority in parliament wields more power than the speaker of the House. The PM wields actual executive authority. The chaos we see in the UK isn’t because of that their parliament fosters such debate but because of very weak leadership.

When you refer to a “blue wave” there is no other choice because it is binary. Progressive policy or not.

I mean what is there? Blue wave red wave or a wash. It’s just an ebb and flow with no third, fourth, etc direction it can flow.

Can you please show me a SINGLE bill biden passed last congress that had less than 50% support ?

American rescue plan - largest single party stimulus in modern history

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...-polls-find-strong-support-relief/6936053002/

    Above 60% approval rating

1 trillion dollar bipartisan infrastructure bill- fixes every broken bridge and gives every airport funding and provides internet to every household in america

    https://morningconsult.com/2021/09/27/infrastructure-bill-support-polling/

    Above 55% approval rating

Gun safety legislation - first gun legislation bill in over 25 years

    https://www.pewresearch.org/politic...ew-say-it-will-do-a-lot-to-stem-gun-violence/

    65% approval rating

    Chips ACT- semiconductor onshoring

    https://morningconsult.com/2022/03/30/domestic-chipmaking-subsidies-survey/

    Above 60% approval rating

Inflation reduction act - reduces drug pricing and fights climate change

    https://www.dataforprogress.org/blog/2022/8/3/voters-support-the-inflation-reduction-act

    Above SEVENTY PERCENT approval

    ------

Please tell me what exactly is "broken" about congress? Democrats passed landmark bipartisan legislation that the American people overwhelming support. The only thing broken is the republican party that doesn't legislate.

By the way trumps signature piece of legislation aka tax cuts had LESS THAN A 40% APPROVAL RATING

    https://news.gallup.com/opinion/polling-matters/249161/public-opinion-2017-tax-law.aspx

You can't argue with facts and numbers. Why in the hell would anyone vote republican whom can't govern blows my mind away.

I am baffled that you think someone like Pelosi has an ideology. You actually believe that huh?

She has very basic moral constructs - don't pander to Nazis/Fascists. That's it. Good on her. She at least isn't that but she doesn't have an ounce of ideology besides maintaining power and wealth and absolutely progressive economic policies are prevented due to corporate lobbying and their influence.

Too bad this was all about power rather than anything policy related. GOP still have zero ideas on policy.

Wait you expect him to research something? He gets all his opinions force fed by Fox News, Newsmax, etc. No need to research when they have done it all for him.

Spending money is always going to poll well. People like to get stuff. People don't like to pay for stuff. People like to get stuff and make other people pay for it. This should not be shocking news.

Or maybe it polls well because most of these bills have been fiscally responsible, and Trumps tax cut was fiscally irresponsible. I’d love to get a tax break and always happy for my fellow neighbors to have higher take home income. However that bill did nothing for the middle class (which is the driving engine of our consumer spending economy) and borrowed 2 trillion while also reducing the income dramatically due to the tax cuts for richest people in the country who contribute very little other than occasionally starting businesses that hire people.

This propaganda talking point that Democrat bills blow up the economy while Republican bills are fiscally responsible is a bs line that I think less and less Americans are buying into and that’s why the polls are more reflective.

Another point of evidence that this is the case is the fact that Republicans almost soley campaign on culture war issues and almost none of them run on balancing the budget. Even running on immigration is basically running on increasing spending. Everyone knows an immigration bill would cost and dramatically increase our national debt but modern R voters obviously want to spend money and decrease our low income workforce because they are afraid of brown people.
