I can see a case being made for Sengun starting even though his jumper and defense would severely limit how good a team with him starting would be right now. KPJ on the other hand, I don't see it. I see a later version of KPJ starting when he gets over his ego and accepts not being a "star". KPJ actually has starter qualities such as spot up shooter and secondary playmaking.
Yup. If you want to see a major difference in style of development for 20 year old off ball guards look at the difference in unassisted fgm rate difference between Green and Mathurin. One player is getting the vast majority of their buckets from assists from teammates and the other is getting a vast majority of buckets off the dribble. Who h one is.gpong to have easier shot selection?
If KPJ was a wee bit taller or bulked up another 20 lbs he could start at the sf position and be a secondary wing playmaker. One thing is for certain for the sake of both their developments, KPJ and Green need to stagger minutes. Green needs to play a lot with Sengun and let KPJ do his thing as the lead playmaker when those two are resting. We can't have two ultra young flashy inefficient guards with high ceilings but low amount of experience at what they are doing who still need a lot of growth to start together in the backcourt and play together. Each needs a veteran presence running with them at the guard spot and not EG. Two young guards like that playing at the same time is just asking for inefficient high turnover disasters.
You are going off feelings/intuition trying to say two players from the worst team would start on quality teams Calling a spade just that is the angle I Am coming from, you can't truly measure a said rebuild until the picks acquired come of age and they either excel or crash n burn And according to you since the two franchise rebuild picks are the reason they win or lose, then they will get all the credit when they start winning since they are taking the most blame now, hands down
He's a 40+% catch and shoot combo guard, there's always a spot for those... and on a good team he wouldn't be forced to try and do it all himself. Being on a team full of scrubs hurts KPJ and Sengun most.
All across the board from Tilman to the starters/bench, especially working on 3 seasons with basically the worst record, even the mascot isn't exempt from sucking, its a team sport, not singles tennis nor golf If the others who you are propping up were so good then they would be dropping or flirting with 40+ game in and out picking up the slack because that's what better players usually do when they are playing with mates who suck, just speaking from experience and having to do just that
Once again you are using the 3 stooges example Dumb / Dumber / Dumbest (Larry Curly Moe = scrubs) You choose to prop up a dumb one thinking you got over, not realizing you are stuck with a dummy
After a couple of yrs of NCAA he was legit day one, don't know if you mean put his stamp on by making the playoffs or flashing his substance rookie year to now present, but I would guess nobody had him being a MVP candidate last yr that early in career, but his hard off-season work with his pops has paid off He may have entered league after freshman yr, but I Am guessing he stayed for two
Mental gymanstics by booby. funny how booby says kpj would b able to start on good teams but his role would likely be different. We are sht b/c kpj is playing his role poorly, but instead of acknowledging that, it's only Smith and Green being the cause of our struggles not the guy being used incorrectly. Pretty sure this pg version of kpj would never be a starter on a good playoff team.
The point, which unsurprisingly you missed, was that the 2 best players on the team likely do have roles they can fill starting on good teams. The rest of the roster does not have any role they could fill starting on good teams... a lot wouldn't even have active bench roles based on what they are right now. I don't tend to blame the few above replacement level players for the performance of all the scrubs.
Yes. His whole game is a series of heat check shots. I was ok with that his 1st year but year 2 and the fact that he doesn't recognize that he's not hot is making me realize he's not the future franchise so stop chucking like one and find your game that helps the team. I just hope that by the time we get a real coach that he's not permanently broken
Lol no need to give effort because Memphis situation could not be further away. They are a low playoff team without Morant. Desmond Bane is a 2 way player and thicc. I am being more intrigued by the Defense than Morant to be honest.
His whole game definitely isn't a series of heat check shots. You don't lead your class in ftr by just checking jest check shots. What games do you watch?
This is true, there's also the "use quick first step to drive and pray for a whistle to bail him out" part of his game
You remember the last game of last regular season when he scored 40 but the entire team gave up a lost game and just passed to him nonstop, that was not team basketball in my opinion. It was blatant stats stuffing but somehow that carried over a bit.
Rockets suck from coaching to players lol dunno how much more analysis can be done. Until we get a mix of vets and another lottery pick (hoping for Vic) and a new coach, this team isn’t going anywhere. We can post our displeasures and over analyze and post thousands of times a day at the end of the day this team is bad period. Lol
