My problem with the term "woke" is it's been appropriated to those with agendas to blindly bash others ...just as you are doing, btw. The term was coined by blacks during Jim Crow to warn themselves that white people may smile at you but don't let them fool you that they are your friend. When moving around, stay woke. During BLM, the grievance was that police officers were not the friends of black people. That was a valid grievance and proper application of the term. After that, both left and right appropriated the term and applied it to many things to fit their narratives. Progressives have always advocated for social changes and conservatives have always resisted them. Nothing new. The new thing is applying the latest cute term that is nothing more than the latest dog whistle. The previous similar dog whistles for the right was rebelling against the term "politically correct". Prior to that it was "affirmative action". Per your usage, being "woke" is nothing new. Progressives have always been progressive. So anyway, /soapbox Feel free continue your disagreements about social policies and apply whatever cute term suits your purpose.
