wemby will not be sent to houston in any case, so tanking with this jackass as head coach is an exercise in futility killing the development of the players silver did send us

It's called tanking. Silas is not getting paid to win, he's getting paid to basically babysitt

well said here. the way they play (completely unstructured, read and react), is not helping these kids learn to play/win. how long do we let our top tier picks just stagnate instead of receive the development they need?

I also agree some blame here is on the FO for not providing enough vet leadership on the team.

boban is a great vibes guy, but how much can he teach sengun and garuba about playing center when they are both a foot shorter than him? he's never had to learn to overcome a size disadvantage that they face each night. you've invested in forwards like jabari, Eason, and KJ, but tate is the closest thing to a vet they have to show them how to win? or is he competing for minutes with them? Gordon is a solid vet for jalen and JC to model their games... where's the vet PG to teach KPJ and tyty to play in the nba?

Another good reason to fire him to show others your friendship did not compromise your decision making.

I've been saying it. This is more on management. You can't have THIS much young talent trying to figure out their game on the court at the same time. It's silly. Everyone is incorrect spots. Confused. No direction. We need vets. We have to start consolidating some of our young borderline talent for vets. Josh, Garuba, KJM etc. Some if not all of these guys gotta go. Remember, we are about to add another high draft pick.

    MIKE CONLEY JR

Silas still needs to be fired though.

Yeah you’re right….hard to argue with a Silas supporter who thinks he’s done a good job. You stand out as one of the intelligent ones on this board. 44-156 is all on our young untalented players and not at all on the legendary coach Silas. Just another 19 year old inexperienced first round pick away from turning 44-156 (worst record in NBA history) to 156-44 so you can laugh at us all and tell us how right you were. Yep….Silas’ tutilage with another kid will be just what we need to turn the ship around.

You think he'd take the job? You have to think about the fact that some veteran coaches don't want their career win loss record screwed. Because it's going to dip for a bit.

Agree. I truly feel for Stone as it may be coming to a point where he is going to have to fire his good friend and his first hire. On top of it, Silas by all accounts is one of the nicest people in the league. Hopefully they do him well like they did with Bullard and keep him on with organization as a scout or assistant GM. Wish the best for Silas and his family, but he’s had three plus years of futility to prove himself and it’s time for a change.

Further….OKC crushed again tonight and now has almost double our win total with half the talent and no Chet Holmgren!

Didn't Stone pay Wall $40M not to play?

To me, that was a clear tank move. KPJ could've developed off the bench as a PG to compete with John Wall for the starting role. We could've kept John Wall around this year to further KPJs development. Stone largely kept a 20-win Rocket team from last year intact so we should've expected this same result. Doing that was a deliberate attempt to handicap this year's team so we could get one more high first-round draft pick.

I think firing Silas now would be a disservice to the Rockets organization because we don't know how well he can perform when we have a better-quality roster and the expectation is to compete for playoffs rather than tank. I would give him next year so that he would have the benefit of another high first round pick to work with and some quality vets. If there's no improvement by then, he should be let go.

Really??? So you’d trade Green, Sengun, KPJ, and Jabrari Smith straight up for Shai???

If Stone doesn’t fire Silas this season, then he should be let go too.

Firing Silas will do no good unless you replace him with someone that can stand up to Stone.

    What? This is silly.

What if one or even two of those guys become his level of player by the time they reach 24?
