Man, Hank.. People keep on saying this but I dont believe it. Silas just plays the wrong people, and some people too much, and others in the wrong position. Personally, I think the roster is fine. Silas just does the dumb stuff and refuses to do others.

Wow, this sequence was horrible. Everyone wanting to play 1 on 1.....great defense by Utah.....and no PG on the floor to setup the play.

ESPN Houston radio on The Bench show said that their insiders from the Rockets organization' Stone is not pleased with Stephen Silas. They believe Silas might get fired late this month, or by the end of the season.

    understandable.

Stone bet his entire career (the return he accepted on the James harden trade) on drafting and developing players. his head coach is not on the same page, often prioritizing veterans with no future in Houston, to try to win meaningless games.

    • Jabari benched most of the second half so he can play Tate and try to eek out a meaningless W? fireable offense. jabari should be getting that experience now so he knows what to do when the games count.
    • starting Fernando over sengun? fireable offense.
    • drawing up plays for EG to take the last shot in close games over Jalen? fireable offense. jalen needs that experience even if it means we lose. if EG wins us a game it does nothing for our future.
    • removing your FRPs (tyty, JC) from the rotation so you can play more vets? fireable offense.
at some point this will start to stagnate the growth of our young guys. Silas needs to be removed now.

I'd like to see all of our FRPs prioritized in the rotation the rest of the season. something like this:

    Sengun (30mpg) - Garuba (12)
    Jabari (32) - Eason (22)
    KJ (24) - Tate (24)
    Jalen (34) - JC (12)
    KPJ (32) - tyty (18)

0 for Fernando, Matthews, nix, and even gordon. trade gordon for whatever draft capital you can get at this point. I honestly don't care if we get less than a FRP for him. he's not worth that anyway and he's in the way here. Tate off the bench because even though he's the better player right now KJ has the higher upside, and the second unit needs Tate's playmaking to help them out.

if Silas ran that rotation all season and we had the exact same record no one would be calling for his removal.

you make it seem like Silas generates them looks but they decline them and go straight into bad shot. NO. They are given the ball and pick, then do what they want with rest of the team stand-and-watching. Same on defense. That's lack of coaching. those statistics don't take many things into the account

John Granato from The Bench ESPN Houston used to work for the Rockets organization. He is still close with people who work with Rockets' organization. He has been solid with his sources.

They're not gonna fire him a month after his dad died.

I think they'll either wait till the end of the season or gauge the first few games of next season.

They won't care about these last few seasons if they get Wemby.

I'd fire my friend to save my job. We both can't be broke

This is what I'd do. I'd make sure to stagger KPJ and Green's minutes as much as possible and each one gets their own veteran guard chaperone to guide them and the offense while they are in the court at all times. Go a head start KPJ and Green for a bit but then one of them should go to the bench around the 6 minute mark and Conley fills in the gaps as they are staggered for the rest of the game.

So Stone needs to find a quality guard like Conley Jr as that chaperone to play with KPJ and Green when they are staggered and they should be staggered by a lot.

Fire Silas and make this happen Stone. Then you are my GM of the year.

Then Stone needs to be fired to its not his private club. He can create his own team and let Silas coach as long as he wants

Sam Vecenie says it's time to fire Silas...first part of podcast. He says a coaching change will put more fire on the players to perform, but the front office should not avoid blame for having a roster devoid of vets.

I appreciate that, but that would be then coming from above Stone because I am telling you that Stone and Silas are tight. It’s legit and Silas was his first hire. If he gets fired then it will be a strike against Stone as well.

Further, Silas has the worst record in NBA history due to being allowed to continue to coach loss after loss after loss. No other team in history has had this much patience and would have fired him wayyyy before it got to be 200 games of futility. Reason he’s still here is 100% Stone. Saying we’re young and inexperienced three years into this only goes so far when during the regular season half the teams regularly are playing us with their stars sitting or injured. Always seems like we’re playing teams missing at least two starters or cruddy teams like OKC, Orlando, or San Antonio but never matters as the historical record keeps going and may be one that never gets matched again for the next 50 years as no other team keeps a coach who wins 40 games out of 200. Please don’t tell me Stone doesn’t have this guy’s back.
