“Twins have some momentum here. They are still involved and got a shot here. They’re willing to do more of a risk on the medicals than either the Giants or Mets were in terms of years/dollars. I do think progress is being made here. The Twins are back in the Correa thing. … There is a possibility the Twins come in and go pick out Correa right under the Mets’ noses. It’s a strong possibility. If the Mets don’t move from their present position, don’t be surprised if the Mary Tyler Moore statue some day has a Correa statue next to it.”

I'm surprised the Dodgers or Yankees haven't come out and stated Correa cheated in 2017 by playing with a metal plate on his leg. Obviously that's what helped him hit those timely hits.

Wonder if the Twins are realistic or this is Boras working the Mets/Giants.

Crane needs to step in and put in a cheeky bid for his services.

"The Twins have some momentum here with the possibility of surprising us all once again," said Bowden on MLB Network Radio. "They are still involved in Correa and they got a shot here.

Should have played out his original Twins contract.

Why? He could get a 2 yr, $70MM contract today at any time he wants.

As a hypothetical...where do you play him? You're not moving anyone in the infield.

    Tell me when that happens.

Cuz we're only talking 26 AAV at most on these long term deals that aren't even coming to fruition.

    Teach him center field.

Good speed. Cannon for an arm. The tools are there.

I’m good, thanks. I LOVE Correa. 2 franchises backing away because of medical reports is enough for me. I would have been worried about his back regardless. This is something else. I hope he kicks ass…but if spending money on him means we won’t sign Tucker or make other moves, I’d rather not. I was pumped when I thought he was gonna be a Giant to troll the Dodgers…but he’s in an unusual spot after signing the most unusual contract I’ve ever seen last year…which he opted out of. I’m good. Go stros.

Yes, long-term deals always have lower AAV because they cover past-their-prime seasons. That's how they are designed.

    Duh.

But 2 of these long term deals aren't even being made official. And a decent chance they won't in the end.

Let's see if the Twins are really that desperate to give Boras what he wants.

If neither the Mets nor Twins deals actually happens, Correa is rotally screwed and I'll stand by my point he should have played his 3 years with the Twins.

Stumpy in CF? Maybe he gets those spring legs that makes him faster? Steve Austin only cost $6M.

FYI to the young kids - Steve Austin was the $6M Man, a favorite sitcom back in the old days about a Bionic Man with improved physical replacement parts that turned him into a superhero. It's tough being so old you have to explain the sitcoms of your youth to two generations.
