Well absurd would be saying he’s 65% at the rim which is nearly 10% below what his actual percentage is at the rim. He shoots 56 %at the rim and for guards that attempt over 5 shots at the rim, hes in the lower tier.

He shoots 64% at the rim according to basketball reference. He was at 68% last season.

What I don't like about Green is where are the easy shots. You remember his acrobatic layups and drives but the problem is those are the only ways he can score right now. Some of it is the offense is complete garbage right now, but there should be more moments where he is able to work himself into a simple shot without trying so hard. Eric Gordon for instance isn't as fast as JG is but I see him able to work himself into easier shots at the rim etc without trying that hard. A lot of it is just feel for the game. Knowing when to drive is just as important as being able to drive.

He needs to separate his identity from KPJ, they aren't twins. It's okay to have a good game if the other isn't playing well, they often have good and bad games at the same time.

Part of being a young player perhaps, but he has his own talents and it's okay to develop faster than your friend.

He is not as good as advertised and needs a new coach with discipline to teach him the NBA game.

Jalen cheated his game going to fashion shows in Paris over locking himself in the gym

Just needs to get his ass in the gym this summer

Not seeing "future star" out of Green at this point. He can put up points, usually inefficiently, but he's not developing into what we hoped.

No amount of locking in the gym is going to help him. He can lock himself in the gym for 10 years, but all he does is try acrobatic layups at the rim, he will be inefficient as hell. I'd rather he takes 12 shots a game efficiently then 24 prayers

Jalen played at around 170 pounds last year. He is up to 180 or so now. He had zero muscle. Zero strength. A simple hand or arm bar stops him in his tracks or knocks him off balance. It makes it look like he is out of control, but contact really throws off his game on the perimeter and when he goes to the rim. He can't consistently play through contact. People under estimate the importance of having a NBA body or strength.

It may take until year 4, but when this kid gets over 200 pounds he will explode in regards to attacking the rim. His 3 point and mid range shooting consistentcy should also improve with added strength.

So his harshest critics will enjoy his struggles now. It will take patience for those of us who believe in him. IMO all of our young core young players should get at least 4 years before we can properly evaluate them. And in Jalen's case he is still the only player on our team that you can't honestly put a ceiling on.

Francis and Mobley except these two are way worse versions. Both chuckers like those two but Catt was an elite defender unlike Green

Sure glad some of the posters here aren't GM's. It's like everything else now, people have no patience and expect everything to happen overnight. The kid is putting in the work and you can see improvement (if you are honestly and objectively looking), but there will be up's and downs in any young player's development.

There is a reason the Luka's and LeBron's are considered generational talents. Not every player comes into the league ready and tearing it up. With that being said this kid is averaging...

    21 pts
    3.6 ast
    4.3 reb

Numbers that are all up from last year (while admittedly not being as efficient) on a team that is a crap show, a point guard that doesn't have a clue how to run an offense, and a coach that I'm now willing to admit is inept at best.

Add to that we have 50 million people in the rotation and no cohesiveness in said rotations. I honestly have no idea what rotations will be playing from night to night so I know it must be hard for the players to get into a rhythm or routine.

I mean he had a mediocre shooting night and still found a way to drop 30 points. Not sure what some of you were expecting at this point but you might need to readjust your expectations and thankfully y'all aren't the GM, cause despite what the great minds here on CF think the Rockets are all in on their 20 yr old future star.

I can't lump them with those two but I agree they definitely need to be comfortable developing as individuals. Don't hold back developing your gifts if your boys aren't as good, let everyone run their own race and support each other.

Francis and Mobley played together from ages 22-26 and 24-28 respectively. These two have the potential to be better at that age, perhaps even much better in Jalen's case.

Hey I don't turn the pages but I can give you some insider info: something weird starts happening next week. Green will start clearly separating himself from the roster and within a couple of weeks all the other egos are going to start burning. Some will progress (because they know how to direct energy) and some will regress from watching an elite scorer being born in front of them. There's going to be a lot of tension between friends, but this is when the coaching staff will start shifting the offense towards suiting Jalen. Sengun and Jabari will shift a gear up.

    Bump it if I'm wrong.

LOL. If that happens, I'll be too happy to go into Chapter 5 to remember to bump this.
