Coach Mosley from Last Chance U is 1000 times the coach that Silas is. Too bad his daddy wasn't a NBA legend.

Hard to miss - it’s the only Houston “highlight”

At this point, Stone deserves warning shots too

How is shot good when pro basketball player don't make it it's so ****ing dumb. Just because someone shoots a ball without defender but with no rhythm, flow, not in his preffered areas it's not good anymore.

Yep, and its why the best fit line CLEARLY goes from top left to bottom right.

There's a strong correlation there, it just doesn't mean anything... or at least not what is immediately implied.

Haven’t been able to keep up with this season as much as I’d like so checking in to this most recent game is sad.

If you’ve got a big who projects to excel at DHO, elbow passing and post ups in Sengun. A backup big who’s actually decent at the short roll and quick decision making from the elbow. Potentially lethal movement shooters in EGo and Jabari. Dynamic cutters in Tate and possibly Eason. And lethal dynamic guards who aren’t the best decision makers naturally the offense I would implement would be…. Stationary baseline shooters and running high pick and roll….

like wtf is wrong with Silas. Is he so incompetent that he can’t see what’s basic in front of him. He’s running the wrong system. The players he has are not capable of running just high pick and roll. The system he’s picked is leading to most of our problems. Our offense should resemble Denver and Sacramento. Not old Htx and heliocentric play.

getting our best playmaker the ball will increase the touches throughout the team. Moving our shooters out of the corners will improve our transition defense and move help defenders out of the paint. Having Jabari movement shoot will make him deadly when we’re ready to compete. Having green run actual cuts out of DHo and not just a flare will make him all the more deadlier going downhill.

Silas needs to go. He has pieces that should resemble Denver/Sac on offense and MKe on defense with bari/Eason playing Gianni’s as the low man and sengun as drop like brook. But the man is stubborn and is obsessed with heliocentric play

Need to get rid of smileyface before he's successfully ruined any and all potential of these young players

It is impossible to overstate the level of incompetence we are seeing out of Stephen Silas.

Only one person on this site has continuously been calling for his ouster for two straight years and that is me. Someday the nimwits on this site like corrosion will realize that I’m almost always right on my analysis.

I'm not sure what metric that chart is using, but on cleaningtheglass they have a similar metric called location effective field goal percentage (Loc eFG%). It shows the effective field goal percentage you would have if you simply shot the league average at the locations the team is taking shots from. The Rockets have a top 10 Loc eFG% in the league but are near the bottom in their actual effective field goal percentage. They are taking shots from the right locations on the floor which means there is a system, the players are not making them. People can be mad at Silas, but nothing is improving until we get better players.

Whoever the next coach is (hopefully soon), they are going to have a difficult time trying to fix all these bad habits that the team has allowed to fester and rot for the past two seasons.

Silas just gives the guards free reign to do whatever out there without any consequences. Iso into jacking up bricks, lazy defense. They still get rewarded with 35-40 mins per game.

It’s pretty hard to defend. I love the guy and desperately want to see him succeed, and I think he could be a good head coach possibly under different circumstances, but damn, this team is just awful and has been for years. They get routinely torched on defense, the guard play is impossibly inefficient, the rotations are awkward, just on and on. I don’t blame him entirely because the roster is so unbalanced, but something with this team needs to get changed in a hurry. The bad habits can’t become so routine that you can’t break them, and it feels like that’s the direction the team is headed. They need a win desperately.

This guy is to nice for his own good. These guys are walking , actually , they ar stomping all over him because their is no accountability . It seems he only likes to bench or limit Senguns minutes. Probably because it’s not in Senguns culture to act up and to behave.

Some people were not built to be leader or a CEO . Silas is probably a solid good cop assistant coach but as a leader he is not it

If league average for corner is 50% and younshoot stepback fade away with 1second left from there its not a good shot

But is that on coaching or the player? I think the metric shows that there is a system that’s meant to generate high quality, efficient shots despite players like Jalen taking bad shots. I believe players are getting their opportunities to make buckets but are missing their open looks because this is a poor shooting team. What sticks out in my mind are games like the Dallas game this past Monday where Jabari missed a wide open 3 pointer which could’ve won the game.
