Yes the angle of the screen is good and it is moving a little bit, so I agree that it is hard to fight through. I did not watch the game, and I read some negative remarks about Sengun's engagement, but generally I expect him to make the call to KPJ and assume that he does being the high iq player and having the habit of communicating with team mates. I also expect more awareness and more effort from KPJ here. He does not look at his right at all during the play even though he has time and space. He sees nothing other than his defender and that's why he gets lost a lot on the perimeter most of the time. So I do not fully agree that there is no way he could anticipate the screen coming. To the contrary he should be expecting a screen coming and be aware of what is going on. Once the screen is set, the options are not good but I think still better than giving up an open 3. The other options are more open to development as well. Positioning sengun there for an open 3 is the worst option. That is where I mainly criticise Silas.
The difference is Sengun is less than halfway through his second season. He needs to be better on defense, it's an area where he has to improve. All young players have areas where they need to improve if they want to become great and reach their potential, this is one for Sengun. If he never improves defensively and is never better than Kanter on defense, then yeah, it could be a similar story. I also don't agree with you that Kanter was ever "amazing offensively", though that's not really the point here. Senguns has way more offensive talent and ability than Kanter.
Why would anyone take anything coming from Silas seriously? He is not an NBA caliber coach. Heck he is not even a high school caliber coach.

Maybe true or maybe not, but really not worth discussing. I don't think anyone would change their mind, and it really doesn't matter. Sengun is not a great defender and he needs to improve his defense, if he doesn't then he probably won't have a great career. No need to argue about which poor defender might be better or worse than the other poor defender.
Also bear in mind, Sengun still didnt play dozen of 30+ minutes games and still didnt play 5(five) 35+ minutes games... hes basically just an nba prospect not even really an NBA player...his both defensive and offensive potential is tru the roof
His offensive potential, absolutely. his defensive potential is through the roof? What have you seen from him to say that? I'm genuinely curious. I don't think he'll ever be able to guard 4's and if you're a 5 and slow footed, you better be able to block shots and contest like Brook Lopez but Lopez is 7 feet tall. I do believe he'll be decent enough to not be a liability. But his defensive instincts are just poor hence why he fouls so much.
