Yes, I already know you believe this. You are just being tautological now. I'm asking you why.

To look at it another way I think it's more that we can't count on humans to be moral for the sake of being moral. This is why rule of law, checks and balances, separations of power is very important. As I said in recent post many people love the story of Cincinnatus but a Cincinnatus is very rare in all of human history. The desire for wealth and power is innate within humanity.

To tie all this back is why this whole debate over governance matters. Yes there is a lot to get angry about from all sides of the political spectrum. Anger though isn't a good strategy to govern with. At some point we need a system of government that allows us to function and prosper as a society. Just getting angry about those elites whether they are letting our borders getting overrun, or keeping us from getting good health care isn't really isn't enough.

I said what I said and have answered this question every time you ask it.

I don't even understand what the bolded part is asking.

I have given you my justification many times before.

Yes at some point we need to acknowledge the unsuitability of the current acceptance of corruption and a government that has meaningful checks.

I am not being Tauological because I keep saying the same things in the same words.

Somebody just learned a new word and could not wait to use it. LOL.

Do the bernie sanders folks realize that bernie had MORE money than biden for his entire life. Biden rode the train home every day for 40+ years. He was the poorest member of CONGRESS for decades and didn't even own a second car. Bernie has been well off for sometime now.

You're basically paraphrasing a fascist who ended up hanging from a rafter. I think you just made my point on why morals matter in government.

Your justification is i want to burn things down to the ground like Matt Gaetz.

Sincerely ask yourself if anyone here besides you agrees with you on this specific take? Especially when I just posted that I will always vote for the "lesser of two evils".

This is a place for discussion, not cheerleading. Pelosi is thanked enough with the lifestyle she bought herself with her job. Isn't that enough?

That's great for Biden, but Bernie also has those hokie "takes public transportation" stories also.

I don't understand how that is looking at any different, its seems to line up with what I am saying and why using morality as a baseline for judging elected officials is a fool's quest.

So owning three homes is a comfortable middle class lifestyle? I own a couple properties and only one I think has the same or greater valuation of the properies that Bernie Sanders owns. I'm not even going to give myself that conceit.
Not really. Yes there is a gradient but pursuing and criticizing others for something that has very very little chance of actually happening isn't pragmatism. That doesn't mean you can't hold that belief or that you're wrong to do so but yes that does put you closer to the extreme end than the middle.

Besides from our previous discussions you like being considered much more on the Left than in the middle. Didn't you say you considered Pragmatism to be a cause of many of the ills of humanity?
I'm not a huge fan of Pelosi and agree with you that Pelosi's power helped her get wealth. Again I'm not that bothered by that except to the extant that it was obtained in violation of laws or ethics. I think it is unrealistic to expect her to not beneift from her position. I mean do you think Bernie Sanders could own three houses without his position? What I do ask for is that it is done transparently and with accountability.

He didn't take public transportation every night for 40+ years to visit his family. Bernie would've been one of the most ineffective presidents in history if he would've been elected. He had no governoring mindset and couldn't build coalitions like biden has. It's amazing how brainwashed so many bernie bros are

It'sa fool's quest to literally discuss anything on a NBA team fan forum lol.

Your entire argument is some meta analysis of how useless it is to talk about morality in politics without the self awareness to realize the uselessness of cheerleading politicians or scolding someone for bringing the issue up on a NBA team fan forum.

Again with the bad faith here. Difference between a few mill over 40 years in public service vs 100 mill in 40 years of public service.

I don't disagree about the ineffectiveness. I just disagree there is any meaningful difference in net worth between the two.

I have no doubt people here agree with me because other people have said the same.

What you will vote for has no bearing on the discussion, it's you always ******** on Pelosi as if she is inherently evil and never giving here credit for the things she has accomplished that you advocate for.

I mean, just look at how the pic I posted of Pelosi set you off?

Who is cheer leading? And why can't you cheerlead while discussing something?

This place is for discussion and not constantly b****ing that makes as much sense as what you are saying.

Isaac Asimov thought that way and his utopia was one where Machines guided us. That could happen but I beleive it's more likely that AI just decides we're too primitive and a waste of resources and just figures out how to get rid of us.
