Silas not trying anything other than drop coverage for Sengun is a problem. But Silas doesn't try anything new, so not surprising.
Sengun isn't capable of a switch cause they'll just go right past him. that's the point. but but its silas fault lol. Sengun is literally in no mans land We've already seen that time and time again. that's not anything new. The problem is Sengun defensively being limited. That isn't on anyone else but him
this is what scouts said about draymond green...they are the worst... btw what does it mater what number youre picked at? smh scrubs
stop the bs i saw sengun guarding steph curry on the perimeter following him all the way to the rim and blocking him there... TAKE THAT FOR DATA if he can guard steph curry then he can guard virtually anyone.... and if your coach cant teach an european mvp how to defend then what makes him a coach? if you only can coach steph curry and james lebron then surprise mutha****a youre not a coach... another fact to bear in mind SENGUN HAS ONLY PLAYED 10 30+ MINUTES GAMES IN HIS NBA CAREER you need rhythm to play defense as well and to play full games to adapt and get experience... so only ten games under the belt and people pronounced him a liability on defense 6 year from now in WCF? LOL what a bunch of tunnel visioned people
this is what you'll get from me from now on with your ignorant comment posted previously that you haven't even apologized for. you should probably stop even quoting me or this is all youll get idiot. You get 0 respect and deserve 0. Didn't even read your dumbass ramble.
I know you are not interested in an actual conversation but let me spell things out anyway. If you are playing drop coverage, your guard should have some capacity to fight through the screen. If kpj is on the other side of the screen and has no intention to recover then that will be an open 3 in drop coverage or two on one. Sengun is instructed to be positioned like that and he has no mistake in terms of that. Sengun is more mobile than last year. And even last year, he could recover and make a block on fast guards who went past him. So it is not a given that it would be worse than drop coverage. And it is the coach's job to figure this kind of things out. But like his offense, Silas just has one thing in mind, and not open to trying anything new, unless he is forced to. By your logic, Sengun must be out of the league, or just get back up minutes because he is defensively limited and there is no way to solve it. But what will probably happen is he will improve and even more so with competent coaching and some other coach will find ways to minimize the defensive problems and maximize offense so that he is a main contributor. Under silas, Sengun's offense is minimized and his defensive limitedness is maximized by playing guards that have no resistance at the perimeter.
You’re 100% correct. Only thing I would say is that it’s pointless to convince SOFs. In their eyes, he can do anything
you did read my argument and thats why you mad now because theres no counter argument to it enjoy your day knowing i beat you in the debate
hahah you big mad bro! this is the only way for you to compensate for lack of nuance and sophisticated argument based communication
foh with your ignorant dumbass. someone definitely needs to slap you. karma will come for you don't worry
Can someone tell me defensively the difference between Sengun and Enes Kanter, another guy who is amazing offensively but can't stay in the league because he is terrible defensively?
There's not enough time to fight through the screen unless Sengun calls out the screen for KPJ. You can't fight through anything from that angle unless you anticipate the screen coming. Both Sengun and KPJ tried to cut off the baseline on their initial movement and Jonas was quick enough to take advantage of that with a good screen. Once the screen is set, there were no good options. The "right" play would have been for Sengun and KPJ to switch which would have ended in a mismatch, but at least it wasn't an open 3. The other option would have been for Sengun to jump at CJ running him off the initial 3 and run back to Jonas who would be waiting for a lob at the rim.
I hate how Sengun gets yanked out for mistakes while the other starter can play like trash and get the same amount of minutes. The guards should have yanked out way before Sengun was last night. Accountability only for Sengun right now.
I see dudes talking about building a culture 24/7, bashing on Sengun's defensive issues instead of disgusting behavior of Jabari. In any serious organization Jabari wouldn't step on the court in that game after calling his teammate out like that and never step on the court in the following games until he apologizes to his teammate. The Rockets coaching staff had a golden opportunity to take a right step in the way of building a culture, gaining an identity and they blew it as always. Sengun should probably return the favor when Jabari starts bricking 3s tonight like he did all season. This Rockets rebuild is destined to be a failure on so many levels.
sengun is actually good at defense, has good handles, drible drives and dribble penetrations skills, he can be a guard in this league...unfortunately hes playing for a tanking team so of course he aint gonna die playing defense , get injured or anything, juts play well enough to earn that max bro btw kanter went to WCF with blazers and lost to the greatest dynasty ever there...so not bad...if klay injury happened a round earlier he could of went all the way to the top... you need luck the most to win in nba
