I was away from the crib for close to 2 months. I left weeks before the Texas Freeze. I didn't know there was going to be a freeze so I didn't wrap my pipes. I came home to no water and the main water valve shut off. Apparently my neighbor, on Christmas Day, saw that my pipes burst and there was water everywhere. Homie turned off the water at the main line minimizing the damage to my home and my water bill. I think he works for the city - I dont know, I don't talk to my neighbors. The water must have been flowing for a while because I just paid an $80 water bill when no one was in the house. The guy saved me for real. I just came back! The water could have flowed until now and the damage could have been so much worse. It only cost $150 to fix the busted pipe.

What should I get this dude to show my appreciation?

    Chateau Montelena 1973 Chardonnay

It may be a tough find. I recommend another wine...assuming you know he drinks.

I should get to name my child before I give them to my neighbor? Hopefully I'll get to watch him or her grow up from my window...

Trust me, giving them your first born (and letting them pick the name and you can creepily watch from the window when you’re back in town sporadically) is going to save you a lot more than just water leak repair money. If you want to be selfish and keep your first born, get them a gift card to a popular restaurant near your house.

    Just don't be this guy:

But seriously, nice bottle of wine/whiskey/whatever, or a round of golf at a nice course, fishing trip, whatever he would like, or as was mentioned earlier dinner for 2 at a quality restaurant
