Sure, it's technically possible without a serious comorbidity, but it's HIGHLY unlikely. The force of the hit simply SHOULDN'T be sufficient. Flukes happen, but the more likely scenario is that something else was going on.
On replay the hit seemed routine , also they have pads on , which should help maybe this will lead to be better equipment like the helmet improvements if this was the case ?
I know a lot of players use very small pads that don't cover much, so maybe that's a factor? Either way though, we're talking about one of the weaker hits you'll find at that level... if we're saying that on basically every play the players are just getting lucky and that every small hit can cause a heart attack, maybe we shouldn't have football anymore. I don't personally believe that, so if I'm a player, I'd really want some answers before going back out there.
Hell, Christian Eriksen just played for Denmark in this World Cup. He can hopefully come back from this if it isn't an underlying condition.
Thank God there are "positive" signs on Hamlin's condition. My guess is that they are getting EEG readings that are hopeful. Wonder if he is still on ventilator?
Hey, if a neutral site is needed for the AFC Championship game then maybe NRG can host. It would likely be the only time in our lifetime that a conference championship game is played in Houston.
So why has the NFL screwed over Seattle by allowing Detroit to play their game against Green Bay only after realizing their fate for the playoffs should Seattle win. The NFL NEVER does this. They want to preserve the integrity of the game. Seattle wins their 3:25 game, Detroit is eliminated. Who knows who that affects them against Green Bay at 7:20. Certainly not fair for Seattle. But whatever it's gonna take to get crybaby Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs I guess. Go Lions!
