APD has a policy (pretty common now) that if there's any mention or threat of choking ie "impeding airway" in police terms, IIRC that it is an automatic arrest on class3 felony charges, no matter the facts on the scene.

If he's guilty, or even if it's just a bit less bad than we think, he should be gone. He should maybe be gone anyway, we'll see.

    I'm completely shocked/disgusted/disappointed/other words.

Dont know the whole story, we shall see.

Gotta say, he's an idiot for putting himself in this position even if he's innocent. After all he's the Head Basketball Coach at the University of the GREAT state of Texas.

    LOL So predictable.

    No one believes this bullshit.

It will be interesting to see what the fall out is.

I thought the part in the initial report where she said she took his glasses off his face and broke them seems strange if he was the attacker....Who knows wtf is going on and I doubt he is able to recover from this even with this retraction.

That said no matter the case of who is at fault Beard ultimately is at fault. He's the public figure and big money state employee and he is the one who simply can't be anywhere near these types of situations.

So she felt he didn't do anything wrong but then sat on this for 2 weeks while letting her fiance be ripped apart? Seems legit.

This is going to be interesting. Beard is turning this program around, will Texas allow him to lead the program again? If it is determined by the school that Beard did nothing wrong, I don't see how they can fire him.

Reminds me of thr Bridges situation. At this point just fire him and get rid of Bridges. If you link up with crazy then it's still your fault. Even if she's insane, she'll let you know that early on. Men need to learn this lesson too. Physically harming a woman or child means your career and freedom is over. Marrying a crazy b**** is a ticking time bomb.

There was a few girls in my times that seemed a little off and I wanted no part of that. It's not that hard.

She did, for whatever it's worth, say the day after the incident that she did not want to press charges and never wanted him arrested. This is not exactly new news.

Miles Bridges also had a current "domestic abuse" situation. Everyone was quick with the "off with his head send him to jail throw away the key" and then videos started surfacing of the woman being actually insane.

People have written articles about Beard and how "domestic abusers never just do it once" or something but the fact that she walked up and snapped his glasses in half just gives me pause. A woman being abused repetitively or living in fear of an abuser would absolutely never in a million years do that. Ever.

The old "oh ****, he makes a lot of money I have access to" realization coupled with the all too often, and sad, tendency for the abused to recant for one reason or another.

It doesn't sound like she was the angel in this situation either.

I'm totally fine with him never coaching again at UT.

Checking out your Longhorns tonight at the new arena @Buck Turgidson vs KS. Should be a good one. KS trying to get into that top 25

Sweet! Haven't made it there yet, but I've heard great things about the arena, give me your report.

There are no "gimmie" games in the Big1X, so it should be a good one.

Dope venue. Pretty good home court atmosphere. Food/drinks are solid too. I like the venue a lot. @Buck Turgidson

However, without a doubt UT needs Beard back on the bench. This isn’t a Beard defensive team. It’s atrocious

I ended up doing other things and totally spaced on the game. Doesn't sound like I missed much.

Glad you liked the Moody. How was parking?
