I honestly believe The Rockets Young Core - Talent Wise is the best in the NBA Only Problem is the Rockets are very Young, Plus Rockets really need a PG and a Taller Center KPJ and Alperen Sengun as a 6th, 7th Man
Silas coached a team full of mismatched over the hill vets and mid vets who just started playing together after the entire team's talent was gutted. How is the over the hill Wall, Olidipo and Wood supposed to win you games especially when they didn't even have a training camp together.
they will pretend they never saw it, but most of the SOFs have been posting trash like that from day 1
edgelords, also edgy enough to get around the profanity filter. super edgepressive this place is being carpet-bombed with shitposts by hakeem94 for a couple of years now. thankfully the pandemic conspiracy theory business is a thing of the past at least. people need to learn how to be their worst selves in D&D and General and talk basketball in the GARM.
Trash ass people! All bc they’re that obsessed with Sengun. Nobody acts the way over any other player except Sengun. If he ever gets traded, I would not miss the fans that’ll follow. They jumped all over me when I said **** Sengun, but crickets when shots are fired at this man’s late parent
There are a lot of things at play. First, while there were periods where the Rockets appeared to not be tanking over the last 2+ seasons, overall they have not gone out and acquired players to improve their record. However, by the same token, they have kept players like Gordon and Tate, so they haven't completely gutted their team either. Teams like OKC, SA, DET and ORL have similarly aged teams as the Rockets, and their records are overall not much different than the Rockets. I hear where some say this team has improved. I don't see better or more crisp plays or execution at all. Eric Gordon is right, they haven't really improved in that way. They HAVE seen improvement from Green and Sengun and Porter. However, the truth is that these players are very young and likely would improve under almost any NBA staff. Also, there are a number of players that have not played much or really improved. At this point, Silas is a lame coach most likely. If the Rockets get a top 2 pick in this draft, then perhaps he can save his job for awhile. Even then, I don't think he will for long. What I can say is that I have heard almost no discussion around the league about the Rockets being well coached. I have heard a lot of people say they are rooting for Silas, but not much positive about his performance with the Rockets. Right now, the Rockets have some really good pieces with Green, Smith and Sengun. Eason and Porter, Garuba and Washington all are really interesting. What the Rockets lack is a real franchise player. Let's see what happens in the draft. What I do know is that they are not going to get a franchise player in free agency, and short of Green or Smith or Sengun having a startling improvement, the only way to get one for the Rockets is this draft, and likely THIS draft. 2023: Rockets #1 and the Bucks #1 2024: Nets #1 (3 second rounders) {The Rockets owe their pick to OKC with only top 4 protections} 2025: Rockets #1 (top 10 protected, OKC can swap outside of top 10) (2 second rounders) 2026: Nets #1 {The Rockets owe their pick to OKC with only top 4 protections} 2027: Rockets #1 2028: Rockets #1 2029: Rockets #1
Who here is going out of their way to offer a path to winning with Silas? Most sensible fans know he's just a placeholder. So anyone who looks for a positive is now a Silas relative? KPJ is Silas son? All this coming from grown ass men with too much time on their hands so they resort to name calling since its so edgy and productive? Just more b****ing and whining from ego riddled nobodies and they beckon to 99ers as if they offer some sort of esoteric knowledge not available to the rest of the world. Give me a fuking break. If Silas gets some sort of extension then sure people can run around with their hair on fire, but until then all this is just more of the same scapegoating and finger pointing by people who have no patience and intestinal fortitude for this rebuild and worse think that these losses are easily attributed to a coach or a player or two and if you remove them then POOF we're a winner. Damn fools all of you who think like this. This whole team fking sucks because they are young AF and dont know how to win, but sure lets make fun of Silas and use his dead father as some sort of attack and then for others to enjoy that vibe? Disgusting.
There are a lot of fans that are still upset with how Tilman broke apart a team that won 65 games when he bought the team. Couple that with no titles in nearly 30 years and now three seasons of really bad basketball - and fans are not terribly happy. A lot of the success of this rebuild is going to depend on how the Rockets do in the 2023 NBA draft. Right now - Green, Smith and Sengun are nice but not franchise type players. Regardless of who the Rockets get in this draft, ownership is going to spend it's cap space and attempt to compete for the playoffs next season. I think right now the foundation of players isn't good enough to be more than a long term first round or second round exit. Reminds me of when the Bucks had Glenn Robinson and Ray Allen - it's nice, but not good enough to go deep in the playoffs. Getting Wembanyama or Henderson likely changes that trajectory. There are some nice players outside of them like the Thompson twins and Whitmore - but that is about it, and they will take some time.
Rockets are 9-21 in their last 30 games. There are definitely some winnable games in there I think that is the biggest issue BUT I have to ask . . .were we REALLY trying to win Some of those "slip" through your fingers type games could have been game shaving (like Points shaving but for games) Rocket River
I don’t understand this fanbase. Y’all wanted to tank for Cade, Paolo, and now Wemby.. then y’all get upset when we lose, but start stressing about winning too many games after beating some good teams. Wtf do some of y’all want? This is a rebuild and it’s tough! Next year should be about winning. Imo we haven’t found our best player on a championship team and hopefully we’ll get that guy in this year’s draft.
I think I (and whoever wants to or needs to) realize that there are likely some very lonely and/or unhappy people that frequent this board. Even some with mental issues. This place is their outlet to let out frustrations and to act weird/annoying anonymously. I personally need to do my best to be more kind not knowing the lives that individuals like that have to endure.
Thats understandable. Tilman sucks. Silas is a placeholder. The team as assembled wont be the one that makes the playoffs. So many easy to see issues and as a fanbase we are going to tear each other apart over the obvious? Attacking Silas with his dad? Cmon man. This goes beyond just fan perspective and preference and its rapidly approaching cuntish behavior only for some guys to try and outdo each other with hot takes and sensationalism. Just throwing that out there since Im still fairly livid - I know you arent part of that, but im just venting. On topic - Im one of the guys who thought a play in was in sight for this year! As the season has unfolded and some deductive reasoning applied its just so evident that everyone from Tilman, Stone and Silas KNEW what they were going to do this year. PUNT! These rebuilds suck the very life out of fans, but eating each other like rats does nothing but continue to sow contempt from within and outside this franchise/fanbase. It was always going to be a multi year process. Anyone expecting more was a homer (ME!) or is just trying to push an agenda for a preferred player and using wins as some sort of graduation on a cylinder that was always going to be dry this season. I agree Im not seeing "superstar" from anyone on the team and I had high hopes for several of them, but maybe a few of them can reach their prime together and with some savvy FA pickups and a little luck in the draft the trajectory could change. It will require patience and that what these AMazon Prime ass fans dont seem to understand. Thanks for the insight from behind the scenes.
You can tell by the 10/11-man rotations Silas is running that winning isn't the #1 priority right now. Development and data accumulation seems to be the priority.
Same fans complaining about the Astros for 3 really bad 100 Loss Seasons. Those Fans Complaints disappeared. Winning Titles and Replacing Stars with New Young Stars. While Not Overpaying. All about Scouting, Analytics Front Office This is the 2nd year of the rebuild with Draft Picks. Team Chemistry takes time. Just be Thankful Rockets players have a Excellent Group of Talented Hard Workers. Players are in Great Shape, No Big Injuries Thankfully.
for many on this board it was "I want the Rockets to lose and tank for player X" losing commences "Wait, no, not that way!" tanking is a stain on this league, but not sure how they'd go about fixing it
There also seems to be a big influx of undeveloped talent coming into the league. I'm personally tired of watching 19-21 year olds still learning the game of basketball at the NBA level. This is the case for far too many teams around the league.
