The biggest difference between harden, luka vs kpj is that kpj blows at drawing fouls consistently and is still lackin in offensive prowess. He tries to imitate the two, but lack the court vision, passing ability and most importantly the ability to draw foul. It was astounding to see that in 42 mins of play, he drew only one foul.
OH wow how surprising another thread being ruined by the KPJ Hate Squad! Jalen is grinding through it. He's trying to work out of the funk. Making shots is nobody's issue but his own to correct and his short track record should show that he's just a streaky young player. He flashes enough for people to give him the benefit of the doubt, but its more "fun" just to destroy those players we dont like on the team in favor of those we do even when it makes absolutely no sense or captures the context of the season! Good Ol' ClutchFans! LOL
Green hasn't made as much progress as Sengun. Both are being held back by having to play with KPJ, but Green needs to get his act together. At least, he should be the equivalent to Jamal Murray, with Sengun eventually hopefully becoming the Rockets' Jokic.
Nothing like a @Mathloom post to make me do a 180 on Jalen after I get discouraged by his lack of progress. I enjoy the refreshing optimism.
Tip jar bet. Green will be a much better player than Green and Sengun won't reach Jokic level. The thing is that still could mean they will develop as equal level players but Jokic is a 2 time MVP. You are setting yourself up for disappointment
I am not sure he tries that. I think it is an ill advised I take my turn, I give you the ball next time approach which ain't working. But not everything is his fault, he can't be faulted if Stone doesn't make trades for veteran All Star caliber players.
It's the little fun we have left this season, I stay away from these comparisons as every player has a trait that is his own and can't be replicated, the better players might have two or three. If Murray played like he did in the Bubble or shortly after that, the Nuggets would be near champions. It didn't happen. They don't have someone like Denver Deke.
Ya and Murray just wasn't as good as the same age. A lot more of his shots weren't self created and he was no where near the attacker to the rim that Green was. Murray was a more consistent shooter up to this point but that's about it. Jokic also by year two was already posting sn impressive assist to turnover ratio for a center. Sengun still hasn't shown anywhere near the playmaking of Jokic but the one aspect I can see Sengun can match Jokic is interior post finishing. That is where Sengun can be dominant. He seems to be money in the deep post at the rim especially for a guy who isn't that tall for a center.
Green is all over the place. I feel like he has a rudimentary understanding of what to do on offense, that's whats holding back his shot selection and therefore his efficiency and consistency. I don't care for it when he hits crazy step back 3's or acrobatic layups, those aren't sustainable in anyway which is why he is inconsistent. It might take him longer than I thought to make the right passes, or move to the right spot, or know when to shoot and when to drive. Being a good offensive player is more about taking the easiest shot possible consistently than making tough shots
Well ya but he simply wasn't the attacker Green was along with finishing at the rim. Green went to the rim more, had a higher fg percentage at the rim and a significantly higher ftr(draws a lot more fouls because he gets to the rim a lot more and forces defenses to foul) If Green becomes a consistent shooter, there is no avenue Murray could be better than Green.
Jalen Green is averaging 21 ppg on 41/30/78 splits in his last 15 games so far this season, Green is putting up prime Zach Lavine numbers and efficiency in wins, and absolute scrub stats in losses...it's astonishing to see the difference
oof, those shooting splits are ugly, but if Jalen does what he did last season and turns it up a notch post all-star break, his end-of-the-year numbers are going to look pretty great
Jalen needs to work with Hakeem on his post and back to the basket game, hooks, mini hookshots, theres a lot to add to his arsenal...he has a nice midrange, now he needs to work on his footwork, just like Kobe did...
Jalen is flirting dangerously with Monta Ellis territory. He’s 20 so I will be patient, but def concerned.
