Well if I recall correctly Harden wanted 60 mill to stay while OKC offered 55 mill They could and should have ponied up that extra 5 They basically chose to pay Ibaka over Harden, that cost them a couple more Finals trips because they had next after breaking thru in 2012 making that appearance vs Heat
KD was the best player on GSW and won Finals MVP both times they won a ring so its not like he got carried to a ring. Lol @ easy mid range pull up J. Cp3 been taking those easy mid rsnge pull up Js how come joining PHX didnt get them a chip? Mid range Js suck ass thats all there is to it.
Actually Harden was already wavering and admitted he might have taken the discount except OKC traded him and made the decision for him.
Cp3 being there just invalidates all that mid rsnge crap. KD shoots 38% from 3 and 45% from mid range. He is just the goat scorer but even then shooting 38% from 3 blows 45% from mid range out of the water. Kawhi shockingly has pretty similar shooting stats to KD dude is a tradegy could have been one of the best ever if it werent for injuries.
If KD's bread and butter is mid rsnge how come KD has shot more 3s than any other distance his entire career? https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/d/duranke01.html
I didn't say KD wasn't the best player, I said he joined a team that already won a ship and were contenders being the same one that beat KD/OKC after being down 3-1 I never made a argument for mid range winning titles I just mentioned those who are masters of it and utilize their floor game with it You seem to be the one with beef against mid range shooters, and you forgot to add Dirk and Bird who won titles with a deadly mid range game, also Rip Hamilton mid range game with Pistons won a ship in 04' and almost again in 05' against the master of the 15ft mid range bankshot jumper (Duncan) CP3 and Booker mid range game got them to a Finals, similar to K Malone who was a mid range shooter later in career and lost to the elite mid range shooter in Jordan back to back Finals When Curry decides to shoot mid range shots he is deadly The mid range game been around since the 60's, get over it, or don't
Maybe because the 3pt happy era he has played in has shot more 3s, he utilizes both Its like me saying why didn't the Nash led Suns shoot just as many 3's as the Harden led Rockets who were both coached by Dantoni When his team needs a sure bucket he goes to his deadly pull up mid range shot because its his bread n butter You can posts stats all day, game film don't lie
Man such a great comparison except Jabari has more range and Garnett is a better passer (I'll always take points over assists). In these highlights, almost every single play in the post results with Garnett taking a jumper rather than attacking the rim. Garnett was a tiny bit more raw entering the league. Skinny with no big man skills whatsoever, jumper was weak, got pushed around a lot. Wasn't even a good defender to start which was later by far his biggest weapon/impact on the court. Big man skills take time but Jabari seems to have the motor and work ethic for it. Adding muscle takes time too, but that's an easy development win for us. As early as next season, he's going to get recognized league-wide for his defense. Just needs to get some reps guarding all the types of plays/players, add some muscle and continue to improve his positioning. Can't stop being excited about this kid's future on the Rockets.
Jabari has been pretty poor offensively lately - he missed 2 important wide open 3s in the 4th tonight..... He is supposed to be a bucket, I hope he picks it up a LOT in the 2nd half of the season.....a knockdown shooter should be able to knockdown shots. DD
We go away from the hot hand because KPJ gets jealous and wants to upstage them. And Silas allows it.
To his defense he usually hits some big ones in the 4th… but they do need to figure out his shot.. hopefully Rockets not trying to speed it up or etc etc and that’s causing the results.
To me it looks like he has a slow release, coming from his hips up, when he has a lot of time he nails it but if he catches it high and has to go from shoulders up it bricks.....more often. Those are my observations. DD
I'm not big on Jabari but man we need to get him more involved. It's hard to tell what we really have on our hands. Maybe he won't shoot 35/35 splits once he becomes comfortable in a system (once we have one...) ... Or maybe he will. But we don't know because this team is such as mess.
Easy to put up monster numbers when the opposing defense has to worry about Curry and Klay. KD had no pressure. We won that pivotal Game 4 back in 2018 at GS thanks to them force feeding KD during the 4th quarter. It disrupted their flow offensively. That’s why in the 2019 series when KD got hurt and GS went back to their motion offense, we got smoked in Games 5 and 6. We had no chance. Think about that for a second. We had a better chance at beating the Warriors with the ball in KD’s hands.
Jabari is going to become every contender's dream. The perfect second or third best player to have on any contender, plug n play. Barely needs the ball to score, always impacting the game at a feel-able level without the ball on both ends of the floor. Just wait till he puts on some muscle and polishes that 3pt shot. Rebounding and shot blocking looking very promising. In any playoff series, his 3pt shot will win you 1 or 2 games. That's massive. Can't believe we picked this guy up at #3 in the draft. CRITICAL piece to our future. Would have been lovely to have a prime Jabari playing with Harden or Yao but it's Green's destiny I suppose. It's a blessing for one of your best scorers to be an off ball expert, a staple of most great teams.
I couldn't have said that better myself. Jabari may not have higher ceilings than Jalen, KPJ and Sengun and most likely he'll never end up being top15 player in the league but he's the most reliable player for the future of this team.
If the game film is being watched by a moron, it doesn't really matter whats actually on the film though.
^ So y’all happy we drafted an upgrade on Ariza with the third pick? Im hoping he can at least turn into Lewis with elite D …
