I'm starting to not agree with these takes. I think we need to play vets MORE. We are playing too many projects at the same time.
I dont know about Silas - but he definetly does a lot of things I dont like. Benching Smith after 3 quick fouls is one of the reasons - just as he did with Sengun last season. The result is the rookie hardly playing. I don‘t get the reason. These guys need to learn to play with fouls - and fouling out is not the end of the world for us. We don‘t need these guys for crunch time - without them we hardly ever are in crunch time.
Not like we need to save Smith for the 4th quarter. If he foul out he foul out. He even put Fernando and Garuba out there together. Two non-shooters. Not going to work in today's NBA. They freaking left Garuba open and he brick them badly. Why not put Fernando on Randle and Smith on Robinson? We aren't trying to win. I don't know why Silas is so afraid to mix thing up and try different combination.
Y'all need to picture this 2023 - 2024 roster: P.G. - Anyone but KPJ S.G. - Green S.F. - Smith Jr. P.F. - Sengun ..C - Webanyama Coach: Anyone but Silas It's gonna happen
You guys are setting yourself up for massive disappointment. First even with the worst record there’s what… a 14% chance at the #1 pick? Second.. Jabari was the projected #1 pick in basically every mock draft I read… in his rookie year here has that dramatically altered the organization in a winning culture way? Yes Silas is a dead man walking as a head coach. He’s proven to be out of his league and incapable of accountability. He’s likely out. However even if Phil Jackson walks through that door there’s very little a coach can dramatically improve. The fact is the roster just probably needs to change quite a bit if we want to win games next year. They’ll need to make a major trade that brings in 3 to 4 good players at least including an elite playmaker. Otherwise even with scoring a #1 pick and hiring a solid coach, this team next year probably isn’t much better. Maybe 5 more wins. 4 years from now… that’s a different story, but I doubt Tillman has the patience for that and more than likely we see something in the next two years where Stone parlays 3 to 4 prospects into 2 good player and signs free agents. The likelihood of Jabari, Jalen, and our 23 lottery pick being franchise cornerstones on our roster in 2 to 4 imo is pretty low. I don’t think TF has the patience for that nor does our fanbase.
I agree with you 100%. He needs to go. He’s taken the rockets as far as he can take them. We need a more experience coach with the talent that we have on this team, to take us to the next level and to get these players to buy in and play better. The culture needs to change. These players have gotten use to losing. This is totally unacceptable.
