All Rookie first team, 8 x All star, 2x all NBA second team, 3x All NBA third team. It's a nice reach, but you evidently don't know much about basketball.
It's all about the expectations when he was drafted and the level he finally reached as a player. Is the same with that wembanyama. The amount of hype is insane. If all that he finally reachs is two second team and 3 third, for me, it would be a clear case of a career well below the expectations, and yes, a bust
Before we discuss prospects and their roles & development, we should have the right system and staff to make it happen. Even if we had regen mj and wilt now, we would only make it to the 'what if' videos 20 years later like Toronto or Orlando does today. About wemby, he is a stunning potential but also looks a collision with a dirty player away from wheelchair god forbid.
Nah, you're full of ****. You can't be making all nba teams and be "one of the biggest busts in history." Hasheem Thabeet is what a bust looks like, Anthony Bennet, Kwame Brown. There's a huge difference. All you've done is expose your lack of knowledge, regardless of how you try and lawyer your way out of the statement you made.
Sounds like you just have a really weird definition of bust that is inconsistent with 99.9% of other people who watch basketball. Do you think Andrew Bogut is a bust? Andrew Wiggins? Dangelo Russell?
You're doubling down on one of the dumbest takes I have seen in a very long time. Yao was incredible and he changed the NBA forever. And on top of that, he wasn't even viewed the same way Wenbanyama is. Do you remember Charles Barkley saying he would kiss Kenny's ass if he scored 20 in a game? There were lots of people who expected Yao to fail. And even on this board, we were excited about him, but I don't think many of us went into that season convinced he would be good. He was a pleasant surprise if anything. I think the only guy who has arguably received the kind of hype Wenbanyama is getting since Lebron is POSSIBLY Zion. But not really. Yao has his jersey hanging from the rafters. Yao is in the Hall of Fame. These are just not things you can say about a bust. It's also weird that everybody else is just excited to see this guy play in the NBA but you're so dedicated to being a hater that you're like "F that guy." Find some happiness, bro.
Oh really?? Have you quest the 99.9 percent to do such an afirmation? And those guys that you mention are not busts, they are just irrelevants
Just revised that post, so go back and take a look. But yes. I stand by that. Yao is literally the reason it was controversial when Daryl Morey tweeted "Free Hong Kong". Prior to him, the NBA wasn't anywhere near as popular in China or Asia at large, and it wouldn't have been anywhere near as big of a deal.
Seriously though, your opinion and the facts are literal worlds apart from each other. Still yet to see anything resembling justification to call Yao one of the biggest busts in history, which is just objectively untrue.
I would love to see this guy make a list of the biggest busts. Is he like "It goes Sam Bowie, Darko, Kwame Brown, Anthony Bennett and then Yao." ? ROFL
Now I'm even more confused, you have to be relevant in the league to be a bust? So Anthony Bennett was not a bust but Yao Ming is a bust?
Yao ming is not a bust. Bust don't make it into the hall of fame. Bust don't get their jersey retire by their org.
