That clip is so hard to watch. İt seems like there is no team cohesion at all and all belief in coaching staff is gone. There is no way for such an interview if everything wasn't out of control for long.

I'm not a kpj fan but all due respect, it's not kpj's job to define roles and set up offensive and defensive schemes. If kpj is the broken part keeps the machine from going (which is probably not), it's coaches' job to make it work. Can't blame everything on a 22 yr old kid. It's not fair.

We should concentrate where the problem lies is if there is no improvement, no cohesion, no plan and no progress to be successful. Who's job is it to make those happen?

It's funny seeing people who are so sure that EG is talking about one specific guy, coincidentally it's the one guy that you really don't like.

If anything EG is probably criticizing the coaching staff. He probably isn't going to put the lack of improvement on 19-22 year olds.

Ego is about the same player he’s been for a while. He was never the guy that was going to elevate the play of these young guys.

But his statement is an indictment on the coach and the organization.

This team is undisciplined and they make the same mistakes over and over again. They don’t have anyone setting an on court example of what a good nba player/teammate looks like. And the coach is not a strong leader either.

They are developing a bunch of bad habits that will be hard to break and losing like this is sure to lead to chemistry issues and disgruntlement. Like I said the other day there is no reason to be THE ABSOLUTE WORST team in the nba for three years in a row.

Eric is right, but he is part of the problem he is a selfish me first player always has been, and he is bristling having to play with 2 guys that are similar.

Can I post Jalen's best games then and say no one should criticize him? I infact literally stated that this isn't the best time to post about KPJ as he had one of his best games yesterday.

    But it's a single game.

I mean can we just look at his production for the season as a whole? Where does he ranks in the league amongst starting pgs when you divide his potential assists by time of possession?

After thinking about it,. I'm actually glad EG said that.

I think that comment actually might have put Silas officially on the hot seat.

    And thank goodness.

All I can do is laugh. EG summed up this Silas/Stone era in 3 or 4 words. It's ridiculous to be the worst team in the NBA for 3 straight years. No culture, no development, no accountability, no wins...

Everyone knows who he's talking about man.

National media hate the KPj show. Other teams fans hate the KPj show. CF members (most of them) hate the KPj show. And now we can see that our only real veteran presence also hates the KPj show. It's officially boiled over.

Beautiful thread. Bless you Eric Gordon for keeping it real. Friction can be a catalyst for growth and change.

Do they? I've seen people in this thread that say he is "obviously" talking about Silas. If a bunch of different people have a bunch of different opinions then maybe it's not so obvious.

I'll split the difference. People are complaining about Silas precisely because him or Stone are ham fisting a square peg into a round hole with KPJ point God experiment.

If this organization wanted to experiment with point God KPJ do it from the bench. Too many young dudes that need their development to play along side a developing pg doing his thing for 35 minutes a game.

A team with this many projects and developing players shouldn't have a starting pg who is developing himself as a player and as a pg.

    100% agreed.

The issue is that there really isn't a quarterback PG on the roster. (Maybe Washington will become one someday but really who knows, he's too raw.)

In all sports there are certain positions that touch the 'ball' the most (goalie, pitcher, QB, PG). Those players' IQ & ability to avoid mistakes has an outsized impact on the team, no matter how athletic they are.

Ideally you'd get a PG who can calm things down when things get frenetic and reliably faciliate plays beyond ISO. The modern NBA has more hybrid SG/PGs yes but at this stage in a rebuild you owe it to the franchise to experiment with a million things and not be so obstinately focused on one theory. For an idea to prove itself it needs to win through through competition.

I don't understand the Rockets lack of experimentation right now.

KPJ is fine as a PG, we need guys that can shoot surrounding him...he is setting people up just fine.

Could use a better system though.

I don’t place any blame on the coach nor the players at this point in the rebuild. We have a very young team and at this point of the players careers they are still learning how to be NBA players, let alone how to play together. We have a PG who is a reclamation project who should really be playing a 6th man SG role. Not to mention his emotional/mental instability. We have a vet SF who is really a 6th man SG, who is undersized as a SF for us. Who also does not want to be here with these kids anymore. We have a new coaching staff trying to implement new systems.

in almost every game we have played so far this season the other team has clearly had more talent and experience on the floor. In games where we had equal or slightly better talent we won those games. At this point in the rebuild I just want to see the guys be. competitive in games.
