He took 12 shots and had 8 assists. Him leading the team in scoring is more of an indicator of how bad the team is and less on him. EG and Jalen only have 1 role: score the ball and they can't even do that. This is coming from someone who doesn't even want KPJ on the team but there's bigger issues than him. He gets treated like the scapegoat when the whole team sucks. People make it seem like he's holding the team back.
Or it’s actually an indicator of KPJ not making the team better as a PG is supposed to do, and not just look up at the Jumbotron every time he scores.
Nah, it's not really a problem, lots of combo guards lead their team in scoring fairly often. So long as it was done in an efficient manner, like tonight, it's a good thing. It's not their fault if everyone else on the team failed to show up tonight. He already had 8 assists, what else could he do to get those scrubs playing better? He can't make shots for them too. I agree that defense is a problem....but what are you going to do? Bench Green for being the worst defender on the team? Of course not. It's something you just have to live with till one day it hopefully improves. When you complain that you think KPJ is "treated like the franchise"....this team doesn't have a franchise player. No one has stepped up to claim that title. It seems odd to bash the one player on the team who had a good game tonight.
15 shots a game to score 19 points is not efficient especially from a PG, and turning the ball over nearly 4 times a game. He isn’t a PG.
Look at the rotation, how can anyone make this team better? The bigs aside from Alpi can't even hold on to the ball. Jalen is hot and cold. EG is a starter. Jabari is so far behind his peers let alone a starting 4. If those are the starters, can you imagine how bad the bench is...
Ignore him, he’s mad bc he wants to entire team to be all about Sengun. Even in wins he’s unhappy if Sengun isn’t a major contributor
No, he's a combo guard.....don't get caught up in archaic position names. Tonight he scored 23 on 12 shots, about as efficient as it gets. Now sure, he's a young player that still has a ways to go, but he's still one of the better players on the team, it's weird for so many to cry their eyes out about him so often. While it's certainly fine to criticize his 54.2 TS% this season....it could be worse, it could be 53.8 like a certain "budding superstar" that is apparently immune from criticism. The team has a ton of problems, it just seems interesting why certain people only focus on one when there are many more much bigger problems they ignore.
Basketball is a two way sport. He doesn’t play defense. He turns the ball over, most on the team. And he averages under 6 assists. He’d rather take a shot than pass it. It is what it is.
Eric Gordon for all his warts on the court you can’t accuse him of not being forthright or passive off the court. He will tell you if he is not having fun or whatever else is on his mind.
He's not great defensively....but he's probably the best defensive guard currently on the roster....so it seems like a weird thing for you to focus on. Also, typically the guy running the point will always have the most turnovers on the team.....it's because they have the ball the most. Jaylen Brown has the most turnovers on the Celtics....they should probably cut him right? Kevin Durant has the most turnovers on the Nets I know this is probably the best you could come up with, but you really aren't making an effective case.....because context is a thing. The Rockets have no two way players, they have almost no one who plays defense, they have no one better than KPJ to handle the ball and run the point. The fact that he needs to improve is obvious, but look at the scrubs he plays next to.
That's a weird way of saying people would view him differently if he didn't throw things at his coach, if he didn't sulk and not get back on defense when he doesn't get the ball, if he didn't sulk and not get back on defense when he doesn't get a whistle, if he doesn't get in his teammates' faces for errors he himself makes. I mean close though, I guess, maybe.
