That is not a good shot chart for a guy who is a shooter, we need to see significant improvement from him and others....our team overall shoots the ball terribly. DD
I'm sure he'll improve tbh, that form is pure. We definitely need to utilise his mid-range game a lot more too, that's going to be automatic in time.
I am torn on that, do we force feed him the ball as he struggles or do we do it as he improves over time? Right now we have strugglers all over our lineup, we don't have a consistent BUCKET getter, we have a ton of maybes. DD
Honestly, if it was me I'd be looking at running some pick and roll/pop plays with him, but often we're just setting screens to create space for the guards if Jabari's the pick, as if we can only play a real pick & roll for whoever's sat in the 5 spot (whether that's Sengun or lobs to Bruno.) Just seems like a no-brainer to me, if we ran more of those with Bari, we give him better looks at the basket on the roll (which he undoubtedly needs more reps at because he's not strong inside) and also run a few where he pops for the middy (or even the 3, but he actually looks more automatic on the long 2's by far - probably because it's more like the college 3 in range.) I doubt Silas will do that, but fundamentals are fundamentals, and he really should.
College shooter, I think we ought to view that with a microscope in the future. He will see better days but to proclaim oneself a shooter without having shot well in the best league, I doubt he can call himself a 'shooter' in this moment.
give the man a couple seasons to work in his dribble, his core, and his flexibility and it’s going to be on. It’s odd to me how many quality posters don’t seem to understand that his driving skills weren’t required in the system/role he played in college. It’s not that he can’t. It’s that he hasn’t built the skill to date - but he’s already developed harder to acquire skills.
KD bread n butter is his mid range but he is also dangerous from 3 as well, CP3 has so called choked in n the playoffs from late game situational TOs and being injured more so than his mid range game failing him We are just watching it from diff. lens, a lot of times the refs swallow those whistles and allow defense to get away with stuff which is why the mid range is often utilized by those type of players
The reason why KD has rings is because of joining a team that already was title winners/contenders And when that team went stagnant they would throw it to KD and he would get a easy mid range pull up J to get them back on track
Overall passing skill of the starting lineup isn't related to how well the starting lineup moves the ball? Okay.
If OKC KD had a smart co-star, I think he would make another Finals or two, the odds of winning it would have been there.
I get we have to overdose on hopium to get through this season but can y’all stop posting prime KG highlights when Jabari doesn’t even play better than Ariza.
Crazy thing is he did have one, Rockets just fleeced them for him and got 8 premier yrs out that smart co-star
I’m kinda tired of seeing him just shoot jump shots all the time. I’m pretty confident he has less than 5 dunks the entire year.
I know his 3 point shooting has cooled and he can't guard big men but I'd much rather have Bennedict Mathurin than Jabari Smith Jr. More dynamic player who can force the issue
Points not everything - you comparing him to a guard who would come off bench and dominate the ball I compare him to other forwards like Murray for SAC and Pablo - Bari would benefit the most from a true PG or atleast better passing guards. Bari shots are usually late in shot clock , or bailout for guard penetrating and having to kick it out…his 3pt shot comes and goes depending on who he guarding (Randle is way stronger ) nothing Bari can do about that but get older.
One that would stay there longer term. Dude didn't want to leave OKC but the deal was too good to pass up.
