As Chop Shop people said, Alpi is the best asset of Houston because:

-JGreen and Jabari is untouchable at the moment
-KPJ, Nix, Boban,Darius Days : No one wants
-Tari, KJM, TyTy,Garuba : No need to trade, return will be same
-Tate, Josh,Bruno : No good return.

Alpi will be welcomed by lots of clubs (if not 29 of them) but not used very well by Rockets, is a luxury for Houston to keep in the squad.

It is time to move on, trade Sengun to get assets and let the boy shine somewhere else, possibly somehere in the eastern conference.

If anyone compares Sengun to Lauvargne, it means that either he/she never watched any of them or just need a brain transplant.

While I think it's a possibility, I would want to keep him for another couple years.

Dude is highlight reel material personified.

Euros normally do well even when they are older, so no rush here!

We played a 27 year old rookie named Scola and never looked back.

Unless we are bringing back a worthwhile player after tanking is done, how is contemplating trading Sengun going to help the Rockets? We have assets already, we don’t need more.

I think that this has been covered before but yes, opposing teams guards score most of the points against the Rockets... part of the reason for that is the fact that this is a GUARD DRIVEN LEAGUE (right now). I'm not excusing the Rockets poor defense, but it isn't just the guards that are the problem.

Of the 21 teams the Rockets have faced so far only 5 of them have what I would consider an Elite Big... 5. All of the other teams have either Elite Guards or Wings if you like that term better. So almost every game the Rockets guards are facing Elite caliber players whose teams are built to help them get buckets. What happens when the Rockets face Elite Bigs you ask... see table below.

It's not just the guards that have problems stopping their counterparts, our frontcourt hasn't been doing that great of a job stopping big men when they face them either. In essence this whole team has defensive issues. But to say the guards are the problem is just dense. Yes they need to get better with effort, assignments, scheme etc., but damn if stopping Trae, Ja, Dame, D-Book, PG13, Luka, Curry, Butler, Brown, or Tatum were easy then people wouldn't consider these guys elite scorers.

The only reason I would contemplate trading Sengun is if we land Wemby. At that point, team needs to consolidate on ball talent with high level role players around Wemby and Green. Sengun isn't a role player. He needs the ball to be effective. That's too many mouths to feed and doesn't help Sengun isn't a floor spacer yet.

Oh look, we've come back around to the "trade Sengun, it's the best thing for the Rockets" part on the wheel of fake ass fans from Turkey talking out of their asses. Let me guess, we should trade them to the Celtics/(insert another contender he'd be coming off the bench for?) So transparent.

Well to be fair I broke gjt up a situation where Sengun trade is probably a good move and that's if we get Wemby.

If we get Wemby, I don't see how Sengun fits. He isn't a role player. He needs the ball in his hands.
That's too many mouths to feed on the team. At that point you consolidate all the talent that needs the ball to be good and trade them for high level role players to surround Wemby and Green.

Jabari fits well as a 1-5 defensive switchable sharp shooter that spaces the floor in a hypothetical future of Wemby on the team.

Yeah it wasn't directed at you, is directed at the dude who tried to spin this same narrative a few weeks ago and spent pages of this very thread trying to make out that trading him to the Celtics for Williams is the best situation for both the Rockets and the Celtics as things stand (when really, he's a fake ass fan who just wants Sengun on a contender, because like most fake fans, he's a glory chaser.)
