We play the Jags and Colts and could actually win one. Chicago plays Detroit and Minnesota and will probably lose both. If we win one of our last two and are tied with Chicago at 3 wins, who gets the #1 pick?
The Bears because technically they'll have one more loss thanks to that really awesome tie the Texans had in week one. And you know the Texans are definitely going to go all out and battle fight and win... and we will hang a banner from the rafters saying "Top divisional record in the AFC South - 2022"
Oh yeah, forgot about that tie. With Justin Fields as QB they will probably take the top defensive stud.
I would still love to win against division opponents, because I’m all for trading down from the number one
I guess I should post in the draft thread, but don't the Texans have to move a top pick for a return of a greater number of picks? They have so many needs at so many positions.
Or they'll threaten to trade down and force the Texans to give them both of their first round picks in order to move up to number one to make sure they get their guy. I could honestly see it happening, in what would be par for the course for this franchise.
These last two are must-lose games. Whether they feel like Young is a must-draft at No. 1 or not, they need to at least guarantee themselves the best possible chance to take him (or anyone else at the top of their board) with that top pick. Winning either of these last two games would be a complete waste. Getting that pick is the reason you tanked this hard; if you can't, what was the point of being this bad the last two years?
Go Jags, Falcons, Bears, Broncos, Colts, Saints, Panthers, WFT, Raiders and Rams! Cheering for draft position is THRILLING SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT!!!
I think it's inevitable that the Texans win the next two games, to be honest. I would be shocked if we lost them both. Hope I'm wrong.
Yup…there will be maybe 25 thousand people in that stadium today. Quickest, easiest way to generate excitement is to draft a qb.
