Mcgrady? Tmac for the most part played off Yao .. not sure where you’re getting this despite being better then Yao he made a effort to feed the post.

You can call Tracy many things but in the first two seasons here before the onset of the debilitating back and Knee issues he played really balanced as a playmaker/ willing passer and Scorer

The fronting of yao initiated and created by the Jazz was a huge hindrance..

Nah, he is a potential all star, and will be a starter for years in the league, Green fans just want him to be on the bench - as he takes shots away from Green.

Me, I don't care who shoots as long as it is a good shot.....TEAM FIRST....

If he could just play as a wing I think he'd be a dang good starter. He shoots extremely well off catch and shoot, and his ability to drive when teams over collapse would be a huge bonus. All of this being said, you'd need an actual offensive system to make it work. We don't have that.

Also, I'm not sure how Porter would handle being told "you're going to be the wing now." He's matured quite a 'bit IMO, and maybe a good coach who will tell him what he needs to hear rather than what he wants to hear is just what he needs.

He's been playing great the past week, and hopefully it continues!

Totally agree his best position is as a swing man . I think if this team had a legitimately good playmaker who could start at the 1 he could slide to his more natural position of the three spot, he just does not have the awareness or the court vision to be a PG.

Any coach with any amount of functioning brain cells could see that but the Rockets are deluding themselves he can be a playmaker. That’s not who he is or his skill set allows him to be.

Francis was with Yao the first two years and just wouldn't get him the ball as often as he deserved it. McGrady and Yao could have been so good together if McGrady worked harder on his passing with Yao. Would have been unstoppable in the pick and roll because of Yao's great shooting. No one could guard him.

Different kind of players, but Yao's shot was almost unstoppable to defend. You just had to hope he missed

Francis was a chucker and ISO specialist so I didn’t mention him.Kalvin Cato if my memory serves me right even called him out on it. JVG tried to get him to play more team oriented and it didn’t work either…Rudy had spoiled him to a fair degree

Mcgrady I don’t agree with. He willingly took a backseat to Yao. Tmac at the time was neck and neck with Kobe as the best scorer and offensive player in basketball dude.

They can just tell him you have the greenlight to score as much as possible now and don't worry about making plays. It's not really a negative to take him off PG duties.

Just curious, what else do you think he can do to become more efficient?

Kevin Porter Jr. is not half the prospect that Jalen Green is. By next year the gap will be even wider, and that distance will continue to increase over the next 3/4 years.

Will be an amusing thread to revisit…

Cato was a big tease. Half the time he looked disinterested

This is so short sighted, even from you. LMFAO. Who has a higher ceiling and deserves more development? If you don’t see that, well nvm. You obviously don’t.

Potential all star my ass. If KPJ makes all star before Green, I’ll donate $100 to tip jar.

So you think he actually has a chance to make all star? I can donate $100 if he ever becomes a starting pg on a playoff team other than the rockets.

Just trade EG and move KPJ to EG’s old spot and be done with this debate. Warmly welcome TyTy. Warmly welcome.

Nah we need a veteran pg man. This offense is way too disorganized. TyTy might be in the future a steady presence pg but this team needs a vet pg. That's where the vet on this team should be.

At this point I don't care how bad they are at other things like shooting or defense. We just need some basic offensive structure.

Who has a higher ceiling? I don't know do you?

Right now KPJ is a better NBA player than Green.....but it is early....I have no clue who has the higher ceiling.
