Yes SBF should’ve done it the old fashioned way. Preached the Prosperity Gospel from a Megachurch or had rallies fundraising and selling red hats to defend traditional family values.

I think it’s more worrying that conservatives are essentially shutting down all forms of regulation…. Whether from the government or from the private sector (ESG).

    Free speech when it’s beneficial….

I think they are fine with regulation when it falls in line with them ideologically. As you and others noted they seem to be perfectly fine with DeSantis and others using the power of the government to go after private businesses for things like "wokeness".

The "party of limited government" hasn't existing for a long time and it's questionable if it ever did.

    Wokeness goes after freedom.

Going after wokeness means defending freedom.

It’s interesting how one’s definition of “freedom” seems to nicely fit with one’s social agenda.

Party of limited government has never existed. Governance in its purest form is a monopoly on violence. Generally I find people who either are hard core limited governance or on the opposite side of spectrum, hard core tolerant, tend to be the most authoritarian.

At this point, I am a fan of DeSantis. This could change. That said, I do think what he did to Disney was too authoritarian.

I’m not a fan of DeSantis but I think you bring up a good point that authoritarianism can com from either extreme.

Clearly disinformation that they were 'quietly' dropped. It was all over the news and it was even reported 2+ weeks ago that this may happen

Sam Bankman Fried’s co-founder gave GOP govs group $500,000 right before bankruptcy

Just days before the cryptocurrency exchange FTX filed for bankruptcy, the company’s co-CEO Ryan Salame wrote a $500,000 check to the Republican Governors Association,
the main campaign arm tasked with electing GOP executives across the country.

The $500,000 donation from Salame was part of a $28.6 million haul that the association brought in over the last three months of 2022, according to filings with the IRS.

the less-than-informed one are easy preys, parroting this sleigh-of-hand spin

That’s how the true wealthy do it, folks. Money trumps all political stances.

From what I can tell, they have to win in the Bahamas first in order to extradite, but I could be wrong.
