Look I get loving Green, I like him a lot too, but LaMelo is a Superstar level player - a guy on a completely different tract than Green - I would trade anyone on the team for him, outside of Jabari (But might trade him too depending upon the rest). Try to step back and look at what is good for the overall roster, and not who your favorite player is, and what jersey's you have bought. DD
I'm talking between KPJ and Green. They are not equal in any stretch of the imagination. Green's ceiling is miles beyond KPJ's and I'm not even a KPJ hater at all. Green is the only untouchable we have on the roster right now as far as I'm concerned (though I'd be very annoyed if we moved Bari or Sengun too) he's by far above and beyond the one with the most potential. Continuously advocating to trade Green and keep KPJ because they're "the same player" is beyond ridiculous, there's a reason one of them went in the top 3 and the other never even sniffed the top 10, the gulf between their potential ceilings is a large one. Also, Lamelo's better right now, but he doesn't have the potential Green does. What's the thing LaMelo does that nobody in the league can touch him at? Green's athleticism, speed and first step are all-league level, you do realise that right?
My question is this. To get anyone good back, we are going to have to give up someone good. Neither Nix or Gary will fetch anything, so who are we parting with that has value to other teams?
KJM, Tari Eason, Josh Christopher, KPJ, Garuba, Fernando, EG. All of those guys can be packaged any which way you like as far as I'm concerned if it's a significant upgrade. I'd honestly prefer to search via the draft/FA than via trade though. But we've got loads of young players we can move if we need to.
Neither team will say yes to this. And you are the only person that would consider Jabari having higher trade value than Green.
I guess it's better than this trade: There's plenty of times Dadakota wants to get rid of Green for "proven" talent. It's been this way since the draft.
It is about roster balance, I am fine with keeping Green, though I don't think he is going to be a superstar player, but rather a few time all star....I think he has a higher ceiling than KPJ - but this is about roster balancing.... I would do it, created a poll to see who has the "Stones" to do what would be right for the team over your favorite player. DD
It's like mostly trolling I'm sure. He knows it triggers responses because of the absurdity of the proposals.
I like talking Rockets and proposing things that make people think. You guys need to leave your DD hate at the door and think......or not....whatever. DD
LaMelo is clearly a better player than Green or anyone on our current roster. Seems like a pipe dream.... As far as young PGs go: Duerte Killian Hayes
I think a Green for Lameo trade is intriguing, although I wouldn't do it. What bothers me is that DD has been trying to trade Green since almost day one, yet treats KPJ and Green as the same level prospects.
No hate from me, I've had plenty of great discussion with you to be honest. Much better than the rabid idiocy of the SOF's haha.
I am not in favor of trading Green - I am in favor of making the Rockets better..... I see Green and KPJ as nearly identical career trajectories.....and Green would bring more in a trade.....nothing more than that. DD
Green has proven without a true PG he can have multiple 15+ point qtrs … imagine if he didn’t have to work so hard … that’s his next step to go from 25-28pt games to 35-40pt games
I wish I could believe that, but I just don't. I'm not trying to be mean either. I just think you've forced yourself to try to like Green because he wears Red and you bleed Rockets Red. It's probably a tough predicament you're in. Westbrook was my least favorite player and I still went to the games and cheered for him, but deep down I wanted him gone. There's just no way Green and KPJ are on the same career trajectories. Just my opinion vs yours though. You could be right, I'll just contest it and you'll just contest it lol
