Title says it all. Not necessarily with the Astros, if one is traded, but which of the two will be the better career MLB ballplayer, and why?

I voted for Chas because I think he could be a 4th OF w/ 300+ PA for 12+ years.

I think Meyers will have a couple of better seasons. Maybe even gold gloves and an All Star selection.

But in the end I think Chas' 12 years being very solid overtakes Jake's 3-4 years as a starter then falling off.

Neither as my everyday CF but if I had to pick I’d go with Chas

I think this is what the kids on Twitter call a "Mid-off"

I think Meyers has the greater power potential between the two and maybe a slightly better fielder as well so I think Meyers might have a higher ceiling than Chas. However, Chas has had a substantial amount of success in the majors so I would say he has a higher floor than Meyers.

I would lean towards Chas ultimately producing more WAR over his career but would not be shocked if Meyers surpasses him at some point.

Well Chas had the greatest catch in MLB history and I will not consider counter arguments so he has quite the head start

I am a big fan of Meyers but I voted for McCormick. McCormick has already put up 4.2 fwar in his career (to Meyers 1.5), and he has a pretty high floor moving forward. I do think Meyers has a higher ceiling but if I’m betting on who ends their career with more MLB production I am going with McCormick.

Chas is the safer bet at this point so I'll go with him, still think Meyers has the higher ceiling.

Both of them have been 3 WAR players when projected out to a full season thus far. CF is not the hopeless void so many have painted it as, the options just aren't as sexy and Astros fans are spoiled.

Fairly decent odds that Meyers never returns to the show with his arm issues. McCormick for me. That catch.

I voted Chas, but only if he is allowed to face LHP

Depends on whether Jake can regain his pre-injury form.

True but don’t forget that Jake’s pre injury sample size is 146 at bats.

I voted Jake just because I think he’s a plus defender and that matters a lot in CF, and Chas goes from a good offensive CF to a jag in LF. The team sees him as a LF. There is probably a reason for that.

Chas played much more often at the corners in MiLB.

    1114 innings RF
    706.2 innings LF
    461 innings CF

He stated he was much more comfortable at the corners when he was promoted to Houston. Since then he has worked hard and become an above average fielder in CF, though with a weak arm.

His reaction, routes, range, and catch results equal better than average per baseball savant.

That said, his skillset is still that of a 4th OF who will not hurt more than excell while subbing at all 3 positions.

Meyers still has potential to become an above average starting CF.

That gives Meyers the higher ceiling but Chas the higher floor.

When guessing which will be better over the course of an entire career I usually go with the higher floor.

This is a very difficult poll.

Chas has the better MLB performance history. Meyers looks more like a CF and has a ton of upside. Meyers in 2021 looked like a guy that would be a better hitter, but Chas puts up much better results than most guys can with that type of swing.

I'll go with Chas, but I worry that he'll end up as a 4th OF on the Astros. I don't trust Meyers's upside until I see him swing without a governor.

Chas. He is already a competent starting mlb player. I don’t think Meyers ever progresses more than he already has. I think he’s done

A torn labrum can take up to 18 months to rehabilitate 100%. In some cases, it’s never the same. He’s young enough to be hopeful for a full recovery.

If Jake recovers I think he had more potential, but Chad is gonna live in our highlight reels for all time with 2 postseason moments. Homer off Cole and the catch.
