This is s good take and I agree with lots of it. Do you know that I have been one of the strongest advocates of Green on this board. His future superstardom is not a doubt in my mind. As far as the rest of the year, I think we’re going to continue to see some ups and downs. He really needs to take this summer and permanently change the motion on his three point shot. It needs to be quick by nature and he needs to jump straight up and down.

The problem with Jalen when he drives is the key is just moving so fast. Like faster than almost anyone ever so he just needs to learn how to finish at a higher level of consistency when going at that speed. However, obviously, we’ve seen a lot of improvement here already.

I’m thinking it’s next year and into his fourth season, where we see the efficiency levels, improve to above average.

The most encouraging sign to me is Green is consistently getting the free throw line, which is the best offensive outcome.

His free throw rate has made a MASSIVE jump from year 1-2

Yeah I'm a big fan of his progression there too, means when his shot isn't falling (like recently) he's still putting up points. Last year if he wasn't hitting from the outside he often just became a non-entity. Massive progression for Green this year in my eyes, and the superstar flashes are getting more frequent than last year too, he just moves different than most.

Age 20 Green compared to age 27 Lavine is a good comparison.

Age 27 Green on the other hand...

This just means Green is guaranteed to be a superstar now.

That is with an entire season of NBA experience. Let's compare Jalen second and half of third season when we get there.

Jalen Green has 100 starts worth of NBA experience, KPJ has 119 starts worth of NBA experience.

If you want to be more fair, we can do total minutes, KPJ has 5000 Jalen has 3280....so Jalen will be approximately where KPJ is now by the end of the season.

I know, I know, we can't allow for them to be compared to one another because it goes against narratives.

Off-season time matters too because Jalen needs to continue to develop physically while KPJ came into the nba already physically developed.

Green was scorched earth in the third and then sat until what... 4 minutes left in the 4th?

Jalen will have his ups and downs, especially when he’s so young.

But boy are those ups fun to watch. If Jalen can consistently do what he did in the third against the Celtics, he’s going to be an easy 30 points every night. We know that consistency is still his biggest issue but hopefully that’ll be fixed with time and experience.

Green was great tonight in the 3rd, nice that KPJ kept giving it to him to get him going.

I wonder how many people actually clicked that link. Pretty safe to say his floor is Zach Lavine, not his ceiling. Crazy how close those are to each other.

So does that mean that both are a few yrs away from being NBA caliber players?

Depends on how long it takes to get more efficient offensively and less awful defensively for both.KPJ is a bit further along, but they are pretty close.

After I think playing first few minutes of 4th for a total 15 min stretch of playing when combining entire 3rd, should have been back in around 6 min. mark of 4th qtr but its like they are scared to play young guys 40+ minutes
