Extremely efficient for his age. Though some context is needed if this is going to be used against Green and KPJ. Sengun has 45% of his makes unassisted while Green and KPJ it's above 60%. Relative to Green and KPJ, Sengun is getting more feeds for good looks But Sengun is definitely one of the primary play creators of the team.
i dont like this shot selection its not sustainable....perhaps he can become curry like perhaps...but i would like more for him to attack the rim...and thats the day ill start rooting for him...until that day hes just a clown freakshow to me, basically a minus, not a real bb player i can respect
Pot shots at Jalen, KPJ, Silas, Stone, etc.. etc.. --- BUT YOU BETTER NOT DARE SAY ANYTHING CRITICAL OF THE BASKETBALL PROPHET!!!!!!
Dude name me a young promising guard in NBA history that doesn't attempt plays like these in league history? Obviously we want him to attack the rim and guess what, this season he has had multiple games against playoff teams where his jumper was off and he still had a efficient night as the primary scorer. But we drafted him because we knew he can make shots like these. Should it be a significant part of his shot selection? No. But Green has been much better this season at wanting to get to the rim when his shot isn't falling. This season would be an utter disaster for him if he wasn't attacking the paint and generating ft attempts and finished at the paint more consistently like he is now. But saying you don't respect a player for taking that type of shot is stupid. And I feel like I'm wasting my time at someone purposefully chosing their diction to bait.
I think every team needs a tough shot maker. Not all possessions are gonna go according to plan, sometimes the defense will stop everything you try to do and eventually you'll have <5 seconds on the shot clock with nothing going on. Every team needs a guy they can give it to in these situations and I think that's Jalen. So yeah, they're not good shots, but that's fine as long as it's not a frequent thing. If it's happening frequently thats a failure on offense, but it's bound to happen occasionally. Jalen looks like he's our guy.
He had problems attacking the rim as well, running into 3 people, sometimes miraculously finishing, sometimes drawing a foul and sometimes ending up with a complete disaster. It is no different. The rate at which he finishes either the 3 pt or the drive is similar (not in the sense of percentages, but being far away from the final product), and the hope is that he will get better at both. At this point, I just let him play whatever the hell he wants to play (and I hope Sengun has more of that freedom too). And we'll have a discussion at the start of next season, depending on how he (they) progresses.
but can he defend and be a lob threat at the same time? That’s the only question in my mind. When he plays over 30 min, Rockets is 3-3. Winner basketball baby!!! (i’m gonna delete this post before small sample size big brains expose me)
HES STAYING IN HIS LANE! GIVE ME THE BASKETBALL AND THIS IS WHERE I OPERATE!
