Man were you the kid who complained about cavities the candy you are eating is going to give you rather than just enjoy eating the candy? Dude just let the people that like him have this one. It's not like Rockets plans for him will change if Joe Rocket doesn't say something negative

It’s been going on with KPJ since last season. and yes, Sengun doesn’t get treated fairly as well.

Watching Les Miserables have to grunt out half hearted praise is like a late Christmas present!

yeah one game against a bad bulls team and “all the narratives are exploding”. Lol. Hey, soak it up now. It takes more than one game to change the narrative of half a season of poor play. Please stop acting like one game vindicates anything.

glad KPJ played well. Hope he can keep it up. But “narratives exploding”? Lol

kPJ is like seeing your little league kid finally get a base hit up the middle and thinking he's got it now. Then the next 4 games goes 0-fer, gets hit in the face on a popup when trying to field and sits on the grass when he gets bored.

Man for someone who claims to not be anti-math and even more so, to work with numbers all day, you sure are clueless (or completely disingenuous) about the concept of sample size. One game and suddenly KPJ is a different player? This is some next level BS, even for someone like you. What if he has a bad game next? Now the “narratives” as you call it are right again? See here is the thing, these “narratives” as you call them are built on the performance of his overall career. You claiming his days of poor behavior are old news due to less than a single year of no incidents? That is actually a narrative.

It is not just one game he has had several good games - but he is not consistent - young players don't just magically become consistent....

I expect more ups and downs and in the downs I expect the people that lack patience and understanding at what is going on to b**** and moan because they just don't like him or his style....regardless of how well he plays.

That is the nature of the beast.

I am in no way saying he has turned a corner, I am saying THIS is what the org wants him to be, and he is on the way towards it......consistency takes time, and chemistry with teamates...

Let's watch tonight at Boston and see if it continues or we struggle against a much better more organized team.

Being upset after an entire season of essentially nil improvement as a playmaker is not lacking patience. Hoping that he turns into something that he never was nor was ever remotely close to being his strengths, that on the other hand is called unrealistic optimism.

He made some frustrating decisions in the 4th, but thankfully he was just on fire tonight and it didn't matter.

KPJ's TS% has crept up to .541. If this keeps going up, pretty soon the haters will lose their favorite argument. I wonder what they'll harp on next?

By the way, the average PG's TS% this season is .55.

That is just a flat out lie, he has improved, you just don't like him or want to acknowledge it.

What has he played like 90 games as a primary facilitator?

I think he is doing outstandingly well, he is improving as a person, a player and a leader, and is gaining understanding of how to run a team.

All of which take more than 90 games.

Happy he is a Rocket - GO ROCKETS! Go KPJ !!!

They both are struggling with their increased role of primary scorers - but they seem to be settling in a bit more with Sengun helping generate better shots for them both.

    Good to see.

BTW - as I said, if KPJ shot better, people would be fine with him as the primary scorer - last night proves it.....people are fine with him as long as his shots fall.

What kind of weird ass post is this? Yeah, if KPJ improves upon something he really has trouble with...people won't complain about it anymore. That's how it works. If players with large deficiencies fix those deficiencies, then it's not a deficiency anymore.

Thank you, this exactly. If KPJ were great at his position there wouldnt be this many complaints about him. Its less about Who KPJ IS than who he is AS A PLAYER. One good game and they are claiming "victory" yay but what about the last 5 and he's still selfish in the 4th its just that he made the shots that he usually doesnt so the bad decisions isnt as glaring.

I guess you missed the "continues" part of the post, as in he has improved his efficiency, in general, this season, yet people bashed him as if he hadn't.

This kind of post epitomizes what's wrong with this board. People go overboard bashing a 22 year old, acting like he never will improve, then when he does, they're all like, "I never said he WOULDN'T improve." Nah, sorry -- if you were unfair to a player, you deserve to get called out. Period.
