LOL, unethical behaviors are just a standard now. This is the type of standard that was once not acceptable but is now not just only acceptable by the Republican party, it's even encouraged (see 2022 GA senate race). And so of course the GOP leadership is not making any stink about this. I don't see this guy going away unless legally required to. And no, there are no similar behaviors (yet) of the Democratic party. Al Franken still pondering.
The swamp is getting ridiculous now. It's like we're getting trolled daily for LOLs. I mean if this were a job (which it should be) then you'd be fired for this. This isn't slight embellishment like you were instrumental in something when you played a lessor part. No you're flat out lying about everything. Immediate termination. I doubt you'd even get a X has gone on to pursue other opportunities email.
10 second google search says otherwise. Corruption happens anywhere there is a consolidation of power. No need to make this a partisan debate. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_American_state_and_local_politicians_convicted_of_crimes
the Repugnants. Repugnant Hoover got the US into the Great Depression; FDR cleaned up Hoover's mess some 70 years later the repugnant W bankrupted the economy, and failed to bail out the economy; Obama fixed the economy and stabilized it.
Especially when people generalize and aren't specific. Clearly, not all bad behaviors are the same. But when all of them are treated the same, it enables terrible behaviors to be typical. In a system where there is always some type of unethical behavior, this is a race to the bottom. We saw that with Trump. Pretty much all politicians are bad and thus Trump is not that different. He was freaking terrible and way out of the norm. Now, his behavior is the new norm of the Republican party and a good segment of the population. Dan Goldman's behavior is wrong and unethical (it might also not be a crime). It's also acceptable behavior by the Republican party. There isn't a Dem official that lied about their credentials like he did, and the leader of the party just stayed hushed. Until that happens (and as I said, not yet), it's not the same. But guess what, let it stands and the Dem will eventually follow.
he didnt do anything illegal, but its pretty insane that he is still going to take his seat in congress. i read an article today where he blamed the "bourgeois" media for making him lie. like a typical trumper, there is no accountability with him. he blames others for making him be a liar. and he thinks "customer service agent" is a "blue collar job". lol. https://news.yahoo.com/santos-blames-bourgeois-media-pointing-154454240.html Despite repeatedly apologizing for misleading the public, Santos still attempted to deflect blame for his lies onto other entities. Santos pointed the finger at elitism in the media as the motivation behind the exaggeration of his credentials. “I worked as a customer service agent for 6-7 months of my life…elitists like the New York Times like to call blue-collar jobs like that ‘odd jobs’ because it just doesn’t fit their bourgeois-style lifestyle.” And that, Santos says, is what’s to blame for him making a litany of false statements to voters while seeking office. “It’s those expectations and those connotations from elitist organizations such as the New York Times that lead people like me” to embellish their history.
Wow......Tulsi took it to him, I loved when he said "I`m not a fraud"...............but your resume is a flat out lie. This dude needs to step down, and where is the gop leadership denouncing this? Crickets as usual
I guess the only difference between him and guys like Trump is the apologies between the lies and deflection of blame. I've never once heard Trump apologize for anything.
LOL I knew they couldn't resist in trying to make Gym Jordan speaker. They cannot help themselves, and I would put money on those McCarthy voters flipping to Jordan in short order. I will admit though he is a much more accurate representative of the culmination of their party though. If Gym Jordan does become speaker though, the Democrats do need to sit up in their seats a bit more. The guy is someone who will grand stand and speak over anyone and everyone all the time. He has no lack of energy to be the only one in the room speaking because he won't let anyone else speak. Very Trump, and maybe more skilled at dominance in grandstanding than Trump himself. If Gym becomes speaker, they have to be ready to punch back, and learn how to not get bullied politically.
