This game demonstrates that running thru Sengun in the high post can facilitate ball movement and set up the other guys for easy shots. Until we get a true point the half court offense should probably run thru the post.
We didn't run the offense through the post, we ran it through the pick and roll. I also hate this narrative that Ryan Hollins was trying to push today, that Sengun is finally embracing the pnr? No. He's been setting screens for the guards all year long, the difference now is, starting from Green a few weeks back and now recently even kpj, the guards finally are figuring out how to hit sengun on the roll. Finally figuring out how to pass him the ball.
This is what playing through sengun can look like if our guards are willing to involve him. This is what anyone can see is a million times better than iso ball and it made our guards have much, much better games.
Having a 3pt outlet next to a passing hub is always a great fit. Worked really well for Hakeem and Smith/Horry/Elie too!
In all honesty, the way we played right out of the gate in the 1st, everybody looked like a great fit. And that includes KPJ, whether people like it or not. The motion and screening with quick passes was beautiful at times. If we can make that the direction and continue to improve it, that's a legit offense if I ever saw one.
What this game demonstrated is everyone gets better shots when the ball moves through Sengun. He’s currently the best facilitator on the team, a half court set where he isn’t involved is probably not getting the best shot on that possession.
As a Rockets only fan, I try to be fair in evaluating the role and potential of all our guys. More power to the Senguniacs, there’s nothing wrong with having a favorite player and supporting them.
you reasoning like a drug addict..ill take just this one fix tonight... and tommorow ill give up the drugs... it doesnt work that way buddy... @LeDakota observe the losers mentality in his bloodstream
