There's certain people who never will no matter what. The problem is you are looking at it in a rational way but the discussion is about irrational people.

No matter how many times they are told that the plan is to run 2 combo guards to split the responsibilities with Green as he becomes more capable, that the current suboptimal situation is merely one of necessity.... there's no one else capable of taking a larger role, they still get caught up on technical position names.

The people who are reasonable already understand this and they aren't the people I'm talking about.

I think people are upset with KPJ because he's practically unable to take a backseat and let teammates run the show.
The boy loves the spotlight and reverts to hero ball whenever there's something good going on that doesn't include him.

I think he'd love to take a backseat... but no one else on the team is capable of doing the driving without immediately swerving into the ditch.

The hope is that eventually some of the young guys will be able to help with that burden eventually, but he's gotta do most of the heavy lifting right now out of necessity.

I hope you're right. My eye test so far says otherwise though.
    I can't say I'm a fan of the drive without a plan.
Let's keep on praying with a decent PG and a new coach.

I'm hoping the Rockets manage to luck into the top pick so they can draft Wemby and finally get a real center. I think that'll make everything else fall into place, especially with another off-season for Green to improve his handle a bit more.

Getting a real coach goes without saying

With or without Sengun, I believe the real on-court priority is a true PG, so I'm rooting for drafting Scoot here.
Unless there is a radical change in the system the big men will be utilized mostly at defense anyway, and there already are two perfectly adequate defensive bigs on the roster. All this requires team-wide defensive effort of course.

I think a lot of the perceived weakness would go away if the Rockets added a real center that could play defense, hit 3's, and be competent in the pick and roll.

Get that plus an extra year of development from Green making him a more competent ball handler and I think the "real PG" narrative dies.

Then Wemby's the only option; seeing how the owner's a cheapskate, there's no way he'll pay for such a center.

That's because there's no such center other than maybe Embiid. Wembenyama has some defensive flaws and he's not a good 3 pt. shooter. And in my opinion, he's not even a center.

Fun exercise going on by the KPJ Stan’s in this thread…concoct excuses to absolve/lighten the blame for KPJs woefully subpar performance vs what was essentially guaranteed by the pro KPJ contingent in their prognostications for this season based on the 10ish game sample to end last season. Anything to try to appear less wrong I guess.

I am sure, we will continue to lose streak. But maybe it is a good thing. We will see, how many lose will be enough to coach change  10? 20? 30?

Every time the Rockets play Bulls it always brings back that what if Finals moments 1994, especially since Jordan choked when it was actually on the table in 95' playoffs
