Tari does not seem to have the BB IQ necessary to get to the next level. I approach players who rely too much on their athleticism with caution: KPJ, Green... Unless they compliment their athletic skills with fundamentals and theory, they're always one injury away from being a scrub. Tari seems to fall into that category.
Jabari relies on his athleticism more than KPJ and Green. You do know that both those guys are far more skilled than Jabari? The only player at the skill level of those two on this team is Sengun. Do people even watch games? How many euro steps have you seen Jabari do? How much advanced footwork besides the basic pull up has Jabari shown?
1.Wishful thinking, I like his challenging and co-operative nature. Hope he progress. 2.Why you continuously lolling? Are you Silas in disguise or George Friedman in disguise? What is the reason for that fake laughter? What's funny wishing our youngster to improve dramatically. I said Jabari or Tari, one's improvement will be enough, both very welcome. 3.How can I take someone always lolling seriously?
I beg to differ. Jabari does not rely on his athleticism at all. He doesn't go 1 on 4, he doesn't take stupid risks believing he'll beat his man to the hoop, he doesn't make unnecessary gambles at the team's peril. It's almost as if he's holding back on a lot of moves, which I can understand, seeing that he's a team-first guy. KPJ & Green on the other hand never miss any opportunity to take circus shots, drive inside among 3-4 defenders, throw up Hail Maries,,, If the shot doesn't fall, people call tjem. boneheaded and move on. If the shot falls, it's the Second Coming: Casuals dance in the streets. This is not skill; this is audacity.
Sengun Jabari Green Tari (needs to work on his tunnel vision) KMJ TyTy That's my current ranking. Starting 5 the guys above, either with KMJ or Tari. Plus Garuba = the guys I would keep Plus Boban for chemistry Everyone else can go.
Circus shots, bad attempts, going 1 on 4 and Green still is more efficient even during his worst stretches during his rookie year. Jabari's lack of offensive moves and ability to get to the rim at will like Green will also limit his attempts at the line which also puts a hard limit in scoring efficiency. The most efficient players in the league get to the line a lot.
What do you mean? Like his frame? Jabari definitely has the frame to add muscle. He is a little stiff and mechanical in his movements but it’s hard to tell if that’s his kinetic movements or his brain making him play stiff. I think he can definitely add quality mass and strength though
Jabari is at best average when it comes to athleticism. Alpi is more athletic than he is. But Jabari is the much better jump shooter and defender. They actually complement each other perfectly.
Yeah, the unskilled player is called to defend any position.... Jabari is just as skilled if not more than KPJ and Green but on a bigger frame doing more on both sides of the court than just trying to drive 1v5 every single time.... Nice try
The biggest criticism of Jabari coming into the league was that he had very robotic coach drill type moves that aren't fluid and robotic as you said. Time will tell if he has that natural grace but I have a feeling it's one of those traits "you can't teach". You'll see Green at very high speed chain some advanced moves together and be very fluid. That isn't Jabari.
Look we have a collection of maybes right now, my money is on Jabari.....but it could be Green, it could be Sengun, it could be KPJ....or it could be whom we draft this year. DD
His dexterity and fluidity is weak for sure, but I still don’t know if that’s physical or his brain making him play tight. Time will tell
You really have to read up on that efficiency thing, son. By that logic, either Green is a piece of merde or you're high. 23 points, but 6/17 shots, helped out by 11 free throws. The inefficient jabari shot 10/17!!
I think it says a lot of you are saying all these horrible things about KPJ and Green's shot selection while Green is in his worst outside shooting streak in his career so far and Green still has a higher scoring efficiency than Jabari. Green in his past two weeks has shot horrible as a jump shooter and still during that time was around a 53% ts scorer. Jabari if he had Green 's jumper for the past two weeks would be like a 43% ts scorer because he simply can't finish at the rim as well as Green and draw as many foils as Green because he simply can't get to the paint as consistently from dribble drives as Green. Jabari simply cannot have a good offensive game if his jumper isn't falling. Straight up he cannot have a good offensive game if that jumper isn't there. Green can still have efficient games without a jumper. That's a massive difference.
Do you want me to post Green's best games of his career also? Was it Green's like 3rd game of his career that he crossed 30 pts.
It’s a habit, cut me some slack! Just my way of texting/typing. He will progress, but he’s gonna be a 3&D wing player. I just hope he can learn how to play within himself and be smart
Yeah, his frame and all. He’s definitely stiff, which was the first thing I noticed when I saw his college. I just wanted your input on his frame. It may not be exactly Giannis, but I can see AD at least
KPJ does have a really high ceiling imo. Problem is the time is really ticking if he ever wants to hit it. Playing out of position doesn’t help, but there’s a good chance in his 4th year that this may be who he is.
