When it comes to finishing at the rim and in the paint, HELL YEAH at this point. Some of that may be a physical liability as it relates to his explosion, etc. But yeah, he goes up pretty damn soft down there. Fair or not, jumpshooting bigs that can't score near the rim are considered soft.
It is true that Jabari needs to go stronger to the basket. But to compare Durant's FTA to Jabari's is not totally fair. Durant as a rookie was his team's #1 option and took more than 17 FGA per game. Jabari is the 3rd option at best and is taking less than 10 FGA. He is nowhere near Durant's volume of touches due to the prioritization of the Rockets offense.
Jabari clearly gets to the line less per possession than Durant, all else equal, and it's not close. It's not fair because Jabari was never the prospect KD was as a creator. The good news is, he's a better shooter than Durant was as a rookie, and that isn't close either. He's also probably a better defender now than Durant has ever been. Super high on Jabari, and I voted no in the poll because I wasn't happy with the Rockets effort with regards to trading up.
Kevin Durant? Let's set realistic Kevin based goals. Huerter. Duckworth. Love. Leave the McHale's, Garnetts and Durant for the fools and dreamers
He needs to work on other parts of his game and developna go get em mentality like Tari Eason. I'd say his development has been great Bari went from standing in the corner and looking pissed when he doednt get the ball to being aggressive and getting his. He also started taking it to the rack and scrapping for rebs.
He was soft to start the season but got tougher as the season went on ans after everybody starting ******** on him. I credit that to our coaching staff they doing a great job developing our young guys and also tanking to get Wemby. If you watched Bari's first few games I dont know how yiu can deny he was soft dude was getting 2 rebs in 30 mins lol.
I disagree. That "go get them" mentality in this system is what makes us look like dog ass. Tari has crazy tunnel vision and it's getting worse because there is no plan. Bari's development has nothing to do with our system. He just decided he didn't want to be in the corner anymore. He is developing despite this trash ass "everybody get yours" system. Just like Jalen and Sengun before him. Silas be like, "figure it out. Do whatever." A tiny bit of structure and our rookies would look amazing, imo. It really feels like everyones development is up to them. Look at what KJ has done away from the team. Look at how ass Gup has done with the team.
lol here comes the realist btw durant is most overrated player ever...jabari can do better... oth how strange that the realist who accuses others of dreaming believes the only way to win it all is by losing(what a schizophreny!) and also believes big pharma and the doctors are not outthere looking for profits but wish to save and cure people...oooopss and LOL what a gigantic fool...
Bari's development has nothing to do with the team? Do you have proof of that or just pulling **** outta your ass? I like how you assume you know everything about what the coaching staff is doing. Did you even know Hakeem was working with Sengun prior to Rox releasing that promo material? If not then why are you assuming you kmow what they are and arent doing behind the scenes? Just cuz you dont see Silas shaming players on the court doesnt mean they arent instructing these kids behind the scenes. Can you look at Bari's performance at the start and now tell me how you disagree with his new mentality? Tari's issue is he turnovers the ball the coaching staff aint telling him to dribble on his foot or miss his layups smh. Development is not equal to a system. In fact it is reverse, letting you figure it out is better for your development than turning off your brain and following a system. Teams have film sessions after the game where I'm they go over where these went right and where they went wrong. The goal is to develop these kids not to win games. Y'all seem to always forget that fact.
I think Jabari leads us to a championship one day. He is 19, intense, has the frame to put on muscle and a great shot. We are already seeing the game slow down for him and he is getting more and more aggressive. Jalen, Bari, and Sengun are a great core to build from. One more rookie from this draft and some solid vets via FA and trade and we are on our way.
KPJ's trash development and shoehorning into being a PG is all I need to know about how the rockets develop talent. Ignoring Sengun's talent is all i need to know. Sticking Jalen in the corner and not wanting him to be a ball handler is all i need to know, Not starting KJ is all I need to know, running 17 centers is all i need to know, playing Nix over tyty is all I need to know. I dont have proof of anything. I'm a guy on a forum who likes to watch the rockets. I never ever said I'm some kind of insider.. 95% of this board pulls **** out of their ass and posts it here. It's all opinion and conjecture. I wish you guys wouldn't take everything so damn seriously. Yall be getting so hurt when I say I disagree. we just fans talking. gawd damn. relax.
This is your perfect clutchfans take, lol. It's obvious there is no system and that our players are suffering because of piss poor coaching. No matter how bad it gets, there's always someone defending the stupidity, lmao.
