    Thing is, people keep saying its detrimental to their growth but .... can you really quantify that or is it some mythical idea?
    I mean, if you can't see growth from individual players over the course of the last year, I wonder if we are watching the same team / games.

    All these kids were said to be in the gym for what amounts to the entirety of the offseason working on their games.

    Sengun has improved by leaps and bounds in the past year even if he's not hitting the 3 ball (that's his next evolution) - he's making better decisions, better passes and finishing .071 points from the floor and .050 from the FT line better than last year.

    Green couldn't run a simple pick and roll to save his life last year, now he and Sengun look like a well oiled machine, he's figured out that he can get the mid range shot just about any time he wants it, he's also getting to the rim & charity stripe at a much better rate.

    Tate has shown an improved 3 ball in the limited minutes of preseason and the few minutes he got at the start of the season.

    KPJ has improved defensively and in getting to the rim & the mid range, he just needs to finish better once he gets there. The first half of that Orlando game may have been his best half of basketball on both ends of the floor. That's why Stone & Silas give him the opportunity ..... That second half was abysmal for the entire team.

    Garuba couldn't get out from under the last chair on the bench last season, now he's earning minutes .... He's a quality asset.

    KJM has improved on both ends of the floor and looks like he may be a solid NBA player.

    Jabari looked pitiful the first couple weeks then settled in and is contributing even if he's not shooting it great.

    Tari came in balling and has the highest 3 point percentage of any player with 50 or more attempts on the team when shooting was supposed to be a problem for him.

    The only one who hasn't appeared to improve is JC .... but he hasn't gotten many minutes.

    The team as a whole is the worst shooting roster in the league yet it has the 4th best shot profile in the NBA ..... while 81.6% of the total minutes played have gone to players 22 or younger which is double any other team in the league. They'll eventually start cashing in on those easy shots.

    They are the worst shooting team in the league, yet they only allow opponents to shoot 0.06 better than their league low figure - they are staying in games despite their poor shooting. That's a testament to their defensive effort. Young teams aren't supposed to hang their hats on defense ....

    I don't think people realize just how bad / raw this team was to start last year and how much improvement they had to make to become NBA caliber players.
    Just look at Green who was statistically the league's worst player by multiple metrics early last season only to finish the year showing why he was drafted #2 overall.
    He had 15 games in the G League prior to his rookie year .... and that was in a Covid filled train wreck of a year. He was pretty much straight out of highschool in terms of basketball development.

    This rebuild is on track according to the timeline we've all understood since the day James Harden walked out that door - the expiration of the Westbrook / Wall contract which is at seasons end and coincides with a 3rd consecutive lottery pick and the bill coming due on the Westbrook trade. They'll add quality talent via free agency or trade along with a top 5ish draft pick and be a much improved team.

    I believe it's a legit question that needs to be discussed. Anyone who believes KPJ has progressed and is not a detriment to the team, will obviously disagree. You can easily check my history to see I rarely post new threads. I know there are many spammers out there and the forum does get cluttered so if the thread police wants it gone @Clutch should just delete it.

    Happy Holidays CF!

    I don't disagree with you, it should be discussed, and it has been ad nauseum in literally every thread ..... and you really aren't the problem, it's the 2-3 posters who make a new thread on the topic once a week like clockwork.

    As for KPJ I've been one of his harshest critics, but he has made some progress even if its "not enough."

    i dun't think both ferntits and stone are too stupid to understand:
    1) kpj, an incompetent PG;
    2) silas, an inept HC;
    on the contrary, both are prudent.
    one is a successful businessman who built up his biz empire from nothing, the other is ANOTHER 'saul goodman' who had worked for law firm for yrs before joined rockets; they know when to sell, when to buy, and how to keep the ball rolling.
    i bet they had long decided to prolong the rebuilding process in ferntit family's best interest, kpj and silas are absolutely the best scapegoats they could find to hold down a little bit, keeps the status quo unchanged as long as it could.
    why prolong at this point? Ya Better Call Saul.
