The jury is still out for a specific whether phenomenon being influenced by climate change not the entire concept of global warming due to man made emissions.


I'm sure they are using models to suggest that it might be the reason.

But intuitively it makes sense from a physics stand point. Global temperatures rising is just another way of saying there is more energy trapped in the global atmosphere. More energy means more ability to do work such as having more powerful high pressure systems that displace air more violently and for longer distances hence Serbian air reading the American Midwest.
