Why is the only side that has moved goal posts the past 40 years on this subject matter the side that has denied the severity?

At first it was that climate change isn't happening now.

Then it was climate change is happening but the effects by man are miniscule and is just part of the natural cycle.

Then it's agreeing to man made effects but stating that the opportunity cost to reverse it isn't worth it and that it just makes sense to engineer around the new climate constraints.


Why should those type of people have any credibility?

You are no more science literqte than the young people guing themselves. You understand that right?

You are a liberal arts professor. You get your information on this from the few scientists who disagree and have reaped the fruits of their dissent in terms of monetary gain and clout. The people who glue themselves are getting their information from the consensus scientific community. There is only so much grifting that can be done by spreading a scientific consensus narrative. The real money is being the contrarian. That's where the grift is. In science, to become wealthy you must stand out and being the contrarian expert is the quickest way to achieve it.

How many anti-vax medical professionals recently have gained significant more clout and following that allows monetization off that increased clout?

It's the contrarian experts who are most likely to grift.
